They were stuck in an almost infanite gem war,

Just because Homeworld starved for more.

Gems were poofed and shattered all over,

Some of them living a life as a rover.

Jaspers dove, more quartzes fought.

So violent, it unfortunately brought,

A violent feeling down deep inside,

That the gems had to hide.

Pearl did her very best to protect the beloved Rose,

As this was the faith she chose.

So unfortunate, yet she promised

To do her best to stay the calmest.

Sometimes, she just couldn't.

Shatter herself? No, she just shouldn't.

Garnet did her best to stay together,

As she promised she would forever.

Her love was so stable and strong,

Even though she knew it was wrong,

That didn't stop her from existing,

Even when she saw those faces twisting.

Rose herself was so distraught,

But she had to stay strong as she fought,

For the beautiful planet that would end up their home,

Watching gems get shattered, their shards in the loam.

They were the Crystal Gems,

If they had to, they would tear their hems.

They had to save the day.

They'd eventually find the way.

Even if it was difficult,

They had to be adult.

In the process, Rose had to hide away

A good friend that is in the bubble room to this day.

She was a muscular, and a very broad, colorful gem

Who so strongly just had to condemn

The mess of Homeworld's disgusting beliefs,

So she fought all the chiefs.

One day, she invented a weapon,

To assist her with her step in,

Which she proudly called the Breaking Point,

Which may have been thought of as a checkpoint.

Rose didn't like how it worked,

So one day, she just jerked

It and hid it in the forge,

As Bismuth seemed to engorge

The idea of ending a gem's existence.

As Rose hid in the distance, she said to Bismuth,

"With that weapon, all it will take

Is a pinch that'll hurt more than an ache."

Bismuth was absolutely furious.

She didn't know using it would end up spurious.

Rose decided to poof her with a stab of her sword,

As all of the emotions rose and poured.

She put the bubble safe and sound in her lion's mane,

The thoughts in her head moving much like a train.

She told the others she'd lost track of her,

And although she could feel the confusion stir,

She said nothing more,

And went off to fight more in the infamous gem war.

One day, Homeworld had the best attack.

Rose and the others couldn't go back.

They aimed and launched a strong force,

All their cries sounding hoarse.

Rose did her best to expand her shield,

And although it hadn't covered across the field,

A handful of them were kneeled

Behind the great big shield of pink

That really made Homeworld think.

The others weren't so lucky.

The outcome was oh so yucky.

Gem shards coated the field

In a glittering, colorful springfield.

In the end, they had won.

It was not at all very fun.

"We had to do what had to have been done,"

Rose reminded the others as they sadly looked at the sun.

They left the ugly battlefield, feeling emotionally torn,

Where horrible memories had been born.

They went somewhere else on the Earth to create a new life,

But the pain and sadness still stabs like a knife.
