Oneshot # 1: Fifteen Minutes
my own idea; could also be considered the prelude which is why it's short

The wind was chilly and Amelia hugged her jacket close before resting her chin back in her hands. She squirmed where she was sitting on the edge of her little suitcase. The mud squished under her bright red galoshes. She wondered if it had been five minutes yet. She decided five minutes were a long time. But the Raggedy Doctor was gonna come, she knew it! He'd promised her, and she remembered what he'd said: Am I people? Do I even look like people? She knew her Raggedy Doctor was special. She knew he was different than everyone else, like Aunt Sharon and her teachers at school and Boring Rory and Mels. Well, maybe Mels was different too, but her Raggedy Doctor was specialer and differenter. And he would keep his promises.

After a while, she was sure more than five minutes had gone by. Amelia stuck out her lower lip to pout. So, he was late. She kept on waiting. It was night out and past Amelia's bed time. She felt a little bit tired. Her eyes were heavy and she was trying not to shut them. Because what if the Raggedy Doctor got here and she was asleep?! Then what? She had to stay awake for him.

Amelia kept on waiting in the cold, but eventually she heard that weird noise again. She decided now that it sounded like wheezing. And the Raggedy Doctor's blue box showed up, fading back into place. It was right side up this time. She stood up as fast as she could and grabbed her little suitcase. It wasn't very heavy. All that was in there was some of her clothes and her favorite book and her teddy. She didn't take anything stupid and pointless, like her math homework or her uniform, because she wasn't going to need that with her Raggedy Doctor.

The doors to his police box time machine open and he stepped out. His clothes were even more ripped-up than before, but he had a big grin on his face as he took her in. "Amelia! There you are."

Amelia crossed her arms. "You're late."

The Raggedy Doctor looked around then he looked at his watch and finally at her. "Oh! Yes, that's right ... ah, fifteen minutes late." He looked sort of sheepish.

Amelia sighed. "It's oh-kay." She moved her little suitcase from one hand to the other and she took an eager step forwards. "Can I come with you now, Raggedy Man? Please? It's so boring here in Leadworth with school and Boring Rory. Can I, Raggedy Man?"

He chuckled. "Raggedy Man ... " Then he stepped aside. " ... I like it, actually. I do like it." He held out his arms and Amelia came running into them in a few short steps. He wrapped his arms around her like Aunt Sharon never did. It made Amelia remember what her mum used to do sometimes, but what Amelia remembered of her mum was just little snatches here and there, not much. She dropped her little suitcase and hugged him back.

"Can I come with you, though?" she mumbled into him. Her voice was muffled

"Oh, Pond, you can most absolutely come with me."
