Aragorn looked at the necklace in his hand. She had given it to him and it was a symbol of her love. He sighed and wished he could be a man that deserved her love. He wished he could become a great man worthy of such a beautiful woman. The soft click of his door closing stirred Aragorn out of his thoughts. He sat up as soon as he saw Arwen and smiled at her softly.

"You are leaving in the morning and I couldn't stay away" Arwen said softly

"Oh beloved. I wish I did not have to leave you I wish that I could stay forever in your arms" Aragorn replied

"Then let me stay tonight, let me be with you tonight"

"Arwen, I could not take your honor"

"I am asking to be in your arms my lord, only to lie in your arms and maybe get one night of rest before I watch you leave"

Aragorn nodded and let her lay down in his arms. He smiled as they both drifted off to sleep. The next morning he awoke early and slipped out of bed to think. He caught his breath as closed the door and turned to face Elrond. The Elf lord glared at Aragorn before motioning him away from the door.

"I trust my daughter still has her honor Aragorn" Elrond said softly

"She came to me for comfort and slept in my arms. That is all my lord, that is all that happened" Aragorn replied "Do you really mistrust me that much?"

"I trust you with her life, but you may not have my daughter until you embrace your fate. Let her go Aragorn, please let her go and live her life"

Aragorn hung his head and quietly walked back into his room. He smiled at Arwen waking and kissed her before she slipped out.

AFTER THE FELLOWSHIP LEFT

Arwen stormed up to her room and collapsed on her bed crying. Elrond followed closely and sat down beside her to gently stroke her hair. She flinched and pulled away. He simply sat back and watched her.

"He left to save us all" Elrond said softly

"He told me that all we were was a dream" Arwen sobbed

"My daughter, did you expect anything more form a man"

"I expected more from my father. I know you made him say those words. Those hateful words are your words"

"Arwen…"

"Leave me. Leave me alone in the grief you have caused"

Elrond kissed her forehead before retreating quickly. As the door closed Elrond heard Arwen's sobs grow louder and hoped that he had made the right decision.
