A/N: Okay, I really liked Chuck vs. The Other Guy. I did. But still, I figure there were other ways to handle the Shaw resolution. This is just something that popped into my head this morning. And yeah, it's probably because I've watched Doctor Who episode 3101, "The Eleventh Hour" like seven times now, but I thought I might as well write it up and share it with you. It was written in haste, and I may have gotten the dialogue slightly wrong, and it's not my strongest piece of writing, but hopefully, you'll enjoy it on some level, and leave me a review. Thanks!
Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck, the characters, or the premise of the show. Oh, and this idea was largely inspired by "The Eleventh Hour", which was written by Steven Moffat, and I don't own that either.
Chuck vs. The Eleventh Hour
"It's almost time to go," Shaw said.
As he was beginning to stand, Chuck threw aside his napkin and drew his firearm on the Ring double agent.
"How'd you find me?" Shaw asked, not turning to look at the nerd.
"I read your file. Ever mission you've been on. Every paper you wrote at West Point. Every travel request. You come back to this place every year to mourn your wife's death. It made morbid sense that you'd want Sarah to see it, too," Chuck said, his aim not wavering
"Smart," Shaw admitted.
"Shaw, how many faceless people, who no doubt had family themselves, have you killed in the name of the "greater good'?" Chuck asked.
With no answer forthcoming from Sarah's captor, Chuck reached behind his back and removed a file he had at the ready in his back pocket. He threw it on the table in front of the veteran Special Agent. Shaw began flipping through the paper work, which showed every kill Shaw ever made in the line of duty. All seventy-three assassination.
When Shaw had finished the file, Chuck spoke again. "Also, of the people Sarah has killed, how many were not justified by at least an order like you've followed countless times?"
Chuck, still with his firearm at the ready threw another file on the table, this one empty. Shaw picked up the the empty file and smirked, despite the gravity of his current situation.
"Now, one just last question, how many times, even before Intersect 2.0 did I ever allow someone to harm Sarah?" Chuck asked.
Chuck threw one final file on the table before Shaw. It included mission reports from his entire time as the Intersect. There was his first night as the Intersect, when he defused a bomb using the Irene Demova virus to save Sarah, Casey, and an entire hotel full of people. There was a mission report from the Payman Alahi incident, when Chuck recruited Carina to help him rescue Sarah from the drug-lord. The incident at the docks, when Chuck refused to abandon Sarah even in the face of a "bomb" that was set to explode. The Colt incident, when Chuck led a tac-unit up to the roof top to save Sarah and Casey from being shot. And the next file was a detail of how Chuck leaped from the roof of the Buy More to rescue Sarah from Sash Banechek. Meadow Branch, and Chuck's save of Sarah from the Fulcrum's Intersect was next. Shaw continued to read through all the files detailing Chuck's heroism when Sarah was in danger.
When the older man finally finished reading, Chuck stepped in front of him, his gun still pointed at Shaw's head.
"Hello, I'm the Intersect, and I love this woman," Chuck said, his voice threatening, and full of emotion. "Now I can't arrest you, because I'm on suspension. And I don't want to shoot you. So what I'm saying to you is: Basically... run."
A/N: Yeah, I know, it wasn't that original, and it really probably would work better as something filmed than written word, but hopefully it wasn't completely horrid. You guys are awesome. Peace.
