Greeting and welcome to my little story. I don't own any of the characters or locations you recognize, most of them belong to the Critical Role cast, I am simply borrowing them to make an interesting tale.

Alex was running down the hall, he had to get away, the torment he would experience if he didn't would be unimaginable. He turned down a corner and saw a shadow out of the corner of his eye. He turned slightly to see what it was and then had to try and change directions. He failed and then his fifteen year old brother Percy grabbed him around the middle and lifted him in the air.

"Hello Alexander" Percy said looking at his five year old brother

"Hi Percy" replied Alex

"You know Professor Anders is waiting for you, he seems to think you should be back any moment now after going to the privy." said Percy smiling down at his brother in his arms.

"But he's so boring," moaned Alex. "Can't I go play in the forest while you study some plants out there, please?" finished Alex by elongating his plea.

"How about this?" asked Percy smiling down at his brother after a short pause, "We can go to the forest if you go and have your lesson with Professor Anders, sound good?"

"Okay," says Alex pouting slightly. Alex was put down by Percy and then ran off to his lesson with Professor Anders. It was a very boring lesson about some distant ancestor who made an agreement with some elves hundreds of years previously.

After his lesson was done Alex ran through the castle looking for his brother; finally finding Percy in the obvious location, the library.

"Ready?" asked Percy snapping the book he was reading closed and putting it back on the shelf he was standing beside.

"Yeah!" replied Alex with a giant grin on his face as Percy picked up his sketchbook off a table.

Together they headed out of the castle and to the forest, Alex running around Percy exitedly.

"Don't wander too far from me okay?" asked Percy as they reached the edge of the forest. Alex gave him a wide smile and a nod in response. They got a few feet into the forest when Percy found a plant he was unfamiliar with, an abnormally large flower with intricate red designs on the petals, and began drawing it.

Alex happily watched his brother draw for a little while but eventually got bored and fell backwards to look up at the sky. After a while, a butterfly fluttered over his head and caught his attention. Standing up Alex began to chase the butterfly around the clearing his brother and he had been sitting in. Eventually, the butterfly flew out of the clearing and Alex, completely forgetting his brother had asked him to stay close, followed it deeper into the woods. Percy, immersed in his work, failed to notice.

Ale chased the butterfly deeper and deeper into the forest until a collection of dancing lights caught his attention. Enchanted by the magical lights Alex got closer and closer to them. As he neared them, a hole open up in front of him. Not noticing, Alex tumbled into the hole, and out of the material plane. Shortly after the hole closed behind Alex, Percy's shouts could be heard filling the forest.

That's it, the story of the brother Percy no longer admits he has out of immense guilt. If you want me to continue this as an alternate timeline piece where Alex joins Vox Machina let me know, if you want something else, let me know that too. Hope you enjoyed
