Cindy's Smile
An Original Resident Evil Fan Fiction
Pairings: Cindy/Will
Rating: PG-13 (Depressing.) A/N: Okay! I just got RE: Outbreak today and was compelled to like this.
It's short, but I hope you like it.
``I'm seeing red ...
Don't think you'll have to see my face again.
Ain't got much time for simple things ...
Because it never happened to me.``
"What a weird customer!" remarked Will as he walked out from behind the bar. He had been working here for a year now. It had only supposed to have been a temporary thing ... but something kept him from leaving as he had planned. He looked over to the blonde woman kneeling to clean up the glasses she had broke.
It was her. Cindy. She was the reason he stayed behind. The reason why he lived in that horrible little apartment in the top part of the bar. It was all so he could just be near her.
He had known he loved her from the most moment he had laid eyes on her. She was so warm and caring. On those slow nights when he would watch her sit by the window and play with her ponytail, he would see the woman he wanted to marry ... the mother of his future children. He would build a good life for her. He promised himself that.
He approached the man standing by door, taking notice of how his arms seemed to compulsively twitch. He paused for a moment, swearing that the smell of death had suddenly filled the room ... but it had to be in his mind.
"What are you doing?!" He shouted out. He didn't even know what hit him until a few seconds after it happened. The teeth sinking into the side of his neck ... the blood that came gushing out. What was wrong with this man! Will managed to push his attacker out and secure the bolt on the door ... but then he just lost his balance, falling to the floor in front of the door.
He could hear her screaming off in the distance. He wanted to get, pull her into his arms, and tell her that everything was alright ... but he knew it was all over for him. His body slumped forward as he listened to the beating of angry fists on the window. If only things had been different ...
Oh, Cindy! He'd never see her smile again! What a cruel hand fate had dealt him. As the people around him rushed to find some sort of safety, he knew he had been forgotten. Probably even by her ... It was better this way. He had nothing left to live for.
He looked up at the sound of breaking glass. The door had just been broken down ... and those monsters poured in.
"No!" he cried out, but theat was no use. The zombies toppled down onto his body, their teeth hungrily pulling off pieces of his flesh. Screams fell from his throat as he was crushed to the ground ... and then there was no more pain.
And there was Cindy with angel wings above him ... her smile as beautiful as ever.
