Title: It's Just Me

Summary: A drabble about Emma realizing what made Peter stop outside the rec room in "Shadowboxing."

Notes: The title was inspired by "The Greatest American Hero" theme song, which appeared in "Hysterical Blindness."

Peter stayed with Emma, accompanying her on the piano until she convinced him to go home and rest. Although it had been hours since his last shift had ended, he still looked a little pale and more than a little tired.

It was only after he had gone that she realized the reason he had stopped outside the rec room in the first place. It was not because he had seen the colors generated by her piano playing. It was because he had seen her.

She told herself that seeing her had only reminded Peter to give her Megan's tiara, as the little girl had asked him to. But her rationalizing didn't stop the rush of pleasure she felt at the thought that the sight of her had stopped the handsome paramedic in his tracks.
