The morning dawned bright and clear and a beautiful girl made her way through Rivendell with a dazzling smile. You see, the day before, she had awoken to find herself in none other than the Last Homely House itself. The girl-Sue-was bound and determined that she would go to the proving grounds, to display her skills in battle, so that she could accompany the Fellowship on their journey across Middle Earth. Indeed she knew that with her aid, their quest could only rise to greater heights of glory, and true... Heroism.
Upon arrival to the training grounds the girl propped her hands on her hips with a confidant smirk, she swaggered her way to a rack of practice swords with the knowledge that none could best her. She bypassed the daggers and short swords that were more suited to a girl-child of her size, and arrived to the greatest test she could find. Its girth equal to her waist, this mighty weapon measured almost six feet in length, longer than Sue was tall by a foot. However, she was undeterred. She stretched onto her tiptoes to grasp the handle, then, with a mighty heave she lifted it! The air around her seemed to shine with the light of her triumph as she held the sword aloft.
Thunk!
Her whole body clenched in sheer agonizing power as she tried to maintain her pose of heroism, but alas it was for naught. Indeed her efforts were too late, as the tip of the gleaming weapon caressed the ground before she had even stretched herself to the challenge. Back crying out in the agony of defeat, Sue realized the true terror of her position now. She could not move. Body tensed, curled over the massive object of destruction, cramped into a solid block of useless matter, Sue cried out. "ELROND!" Perhaps this trial had been too much.
