A/N: Okay, first off, this is a one shot. I am not continuing and this will not have a happy ending.
Summery: As he looked at the girl before him, Sora realized that for once he was too late to save her.
Warning: Character Death
How could it happen? That was one of the few things running through Sora's mind as he ran through the rain in Radiant Gardens. The other two? Where is she and is she alright? The rain was freezing cold and he was soaked to the bone, but he couldn't have cared less. He needed to find Kairi, but where could he have taken her? He never thought that a person living here could take the one person he loved more dearly than anything. But a cold unfeeling man took her. But Kairi would be okay. She was always okay when she was kidnapped, besides her heart being taken that one time.
While Sora ran, Donald, Goofy, Riku, and King Mickey tried to catch up. The rain chilled them to the core, but they were more worried about Kairi and Sora to really let it affect them. Sora stopped at the castle basement. He had an awful feeling he knew where his lost love was, but he prayed to God that he was wrong. He pulled rock after rock out of the way and climbed through the small tunnel he made, despite the wires shocking him and scratching his skin making the sticky red liquid run down his face, neck, arms, and legs. They were only scratches, nothing important. He made his way higher and higher to the top of the castle hoping and praying that the kidnapper didn't do what Sora was afraid he had done. He ran higher and higher until he was blocked by a giant boulder.
"Sora!" Sora turned to see Riku. His silver hair practically glued to his neck. "Why do you think she's here?"
"Because…it's just a feeling I have." Sora said sadly. He summoned the Keyblade and began to attack the stone that stood between him and the truth. He ran into the chapel and through to a hauntingly familiar chamber. And there she was, exactly as she was two years ago.
Sora made his way towards the unmoving girl, his heart dropping every second of the way. Then tears began to stream from his eyes. He dropped to his injured knees and ignored the pain. Kairi lay still as a statue, wearing the same pink outfit she was earlier, mixed with a few whites and grays, but a new color had joined them. Crimson formed a large circle in the middle of her torso and she was practically laying in her own blood. Sora grabbed her had slowly, only to find it unusually cooler. She had been dead for a few hours. Scars were practically everywhere and it was a terrible sight to see. He picked up the girl and held her. It was hard to tell whose blood was whose. Then he felt hot liquid drop onto his shoulder.
"Come on, Sora. Let's take her home." Riku said, his voice breaking with every word.
A/N: Wow…I have no idea where that came from. This has to be the most depressing, and most definitely the shortest fic I have ever written. Hm…surely Riku would cry (at least a little) if he discovered his friend's dead body. But I can not see him crying in any other situation.
