Title: A Conversation in the Car
Summary: UNDRABBLE: Children of Volatile Alcoholics...Bones veers awfully close to psychology. (Not as heavy as it sounds)
Fandom: Bones
Spoilers: Probably 4x26 Mayhem on a Cross
Author: Hedwig
Rating: K+ (vaguely deals with alcoholism)
AN: My first foray into Bones, so please give me feedback. I have no idea if the study mentioned actually exists, the concept is based on personal observations and the thing that Dr. Brennan hates: a gut feeling.

Children of Volatile Alcoholics...
"Children of volatile alcoholics are often in empathetic professions, like nursing. It's a recent study," she said, breaking a few minutes silence when they were en route to a crime scene.
He clenched his jaw but remained silent as they sped along.
"Of course, pre-disposition to addiction is genetically linked. The study is inherently flawed as they excluded the unemployed, the seasonally employed, and those with a criminal record from the study," she shrugged, "Still, it is an intriguing concept."
"Jeez Bones," he said. His masseter muscle began to tic, she noted with interest. Perhaps it was time to explain her reasoning.
"As someone who fits into that population, I thought you might be interested. Your ability to 'read' people probably developed in your own childhood."
"Don't you ever tell Sweets this theory of yours. And isn't this psychology?"
"It's positing a scenario based on scientific research and my own observations," she rebutted.
"Psychology," he said smugly.
"Fine," she said with a huff, leaning back into her seat, "and I won't tell Sweets," she added.
..
"You're probably right though."
"I know Booth."

Just something short to test the waters in this new fandom – let me know about my canon errors, spelling mistakes, grammar faux pas, and glaring inconsistencies in characterization. Come on, I can take it. Also, I might change the title to Conversations in the Car, so let me know if you'd like to see any particular conversation.
