AN: Hello everyone,
So, I have written a poem in the point of view of Buttercup as she deals with normality and her powers.
Please leave a review letting me know what you think,
I own nothing besides the poem.
With these powers, I stand against the city.
Living the fantasies that would please even Walker Mitty.
Acceptance out of reach, judgement being the only thing I see.
Called for in desperation, pushed away in their fear of me.
Expectations always rising, normal became a foreign word.
I often wish I could be free, free like a bird.
With these powers, I am always blessed.
Gifted with extras, known as better than the rest.
When evil calls, the city doesn't have a clue.
Ring up the girls, they know what to do.
Punches, kicks, jabs, throws.
All enhancing by Chemical X blows.
With these powers, I remember where I come from.
Super powered sister, a dad, yet no mum.
Our family is energetic, confusing, not like others.
What did they expect, with only sisters no brothers.
Patrolling the cities, looking out for crime.
Even if someone had only dropped a dime.
With these powers, I know I am strong.
Whoever says we are weak I long to prove them wrong.
Three little girls, the professor working with nuclear fission.
Must be lacking parental supervision.
We look out for each other, we see the other sides.
All looking out for the end prize.
What that is, we couldn't say.
Safety or freedom or keeping evil at bay.
With these powers, I do not fit into a box.
I cannot be fit into society's cage, covered in locks.
Say I belong in a circus, really. I dare you.
I am not ordinary, yes that is true.
So young, yet we've seen so much.
Protecting all we love from danger's wicked touch.
With these powers, seemingly we are an issue.
Spend my days wiping my sisters tears with a tissue.
The professor says: By powerful because you are.
Look at you, using a finger to lift a car!
His words of encouragement are nothing but wise.
Sadly, we've grown up to view these as lies.
With these powers, I have realized that I am danger.
So quick to be set off by my anger.
One sister is smart, the other is sweet.
To be seen as equal would be quite the treat.
Looking in the mirror, I see nothing but evil.
A little girl causing nothing but upheaval.
Funny how our opinions are so quick to change.
Who knew our thoughts had that kind of range?
With these powers, I am me.
That's all I've ever been able to see.
Common Villains and HIM and Mojo and the Gang,
My sanity, on a string it seems to hang.
Pushed to the breaking point, no options of return.
The harsh lessons of life I sure did learn.
With these powers,
I am strong, powerful, wise, me.
That is all anyone should ever see.
Review!
