Author's Note: Yes, I know that I should be working on The Big Mixup, but this was running around in my head and I just had to write it!
The story itself takes place during the episode Music To Soothe The Savage Beast so there may be some spoilers.
Disclaimer: I don't own Code Lyoko. If I did, we'd have a fifth season and CL would air on television, not Cartoon Network's video stream. Which I don't own.
It had been a long time since he had possessed someone young. His zombie attack had possessed them, true, but it was indirect.
He would have possessed them before, but they were too young. At only eleven years, they were much too young. He had possessed Jeremy when he was twelve, but Jeremy was nearing thirteen when he had possessed him.
Thirteen. That was the golden number. The number that separated the boys from the men and the girls from the women. The number that he used when he targeted his victims.
Age. It was a funny thing, really. You are considered a child if you are under thirteen. At the same time, you are considered an adult at eighteen. Humans had strange ways of determining such things.
Milly and Tamiya were only twelve. He had hesitated in possessing them for that reason. They were still children. Children were innocent. It was the adult human, Franz, who had imprisoned him. An adult. Adults were corrupted.
If he possessed Milly and Tamiya, then could he corrupt them? Take away their childlike innocence and turn them into corrupted adults?
He decided to risk it. His enemies were, after all, adults. He would have to be more careful with them as they were still children. But, they were not as innocent as younger children. One more year and they would be adults. Corrupt.
It was settled. He possessed both Milly and Tamiya. He was going to be careful.
Then that man, Ulrich Stern, used the power against them. The electricity bounced back. It hurt them. How could he do that? They were children. Still children.
He knew that the other two men and the two women were winning. He could feel the loss of power on his three victims. He let the woman, the one that was with Aelita before her concert, take the full blow of the attack. She was an adult. But he took some of the blow for Milly and Tamiya.
After all, they were still children.
