The he heard it, a clink, then a clank. The strange thing was the sound was not reptitive or in any sort of pattern for that matter. Balthier, being curious, headed towards the engine room. The clinks and clanks got louder as he got closer. Standing outside the door by now, he heard labored breathing.
"What the-" Balthier muttered as he opened the door to find Penelo. She was flushed, out of breath, and it looked as if she hadn't slept in ages.
"W-what are you doing here?!" Penelo yelled shaking like a scared animal that had just been found.
"I do belive this is my ship," Balthier stated firmly "what are you doing here?"
Penelo sighed and sat down. Balthier came fully into the room and saw Basch's Turnesol on the floor behind the door.
"Are you trying to learn how to use a sword?" Balthier asked slowly.
Penelo nodded and took a drink from a water pouch on her side.
"Okay, show me your stance" He said smirking.
The blonde girl's heart skipped a beat as as she stood up and grabbed the sword in a very clumsy matter. She tried to swing it, but it fell to the metal floor with a clank. Penelo picked it back up as Balthier's hand closed over hers. He moved behind her holding the grasp of the sword over her hands.
"With a sword like this, all you need is one swift blow and your enemy is dead." Balthier said, his mouth right next to her ear.
Penelo lifted the sword and ended up falling forward with his weight on her back and the weight of the sword in front. Balthier landed on top of her. She turned red from head to toe as they stayed in that position for a few moments.
"B-Balthier?" Penelo suddered.
He didn't respond, but instead, propped himself up and turned her to face him. Balthier had an animal like look in his eyes. She was his prey and he was the hungry lion.
