A/N: This is basically what happens when I have too much free time on my hands to think. It's just my attempt at understanding the depth of Luke and Lorelai's love.

"Would you just stand still?" He asked exasperated.
And when he lowered his lips to meet hers, it felt like the most natural thing in the world. Every moment in her life, she realized, she'd been searching for this. He wasn't perfect. Not by a long shot, but neither was she. AS she thought about the ways he'd touched her life, she marveled at the fact she hadn't seen it before.
He'd been there, through everything the world had thrown at her. He'd built chuppahs, spoken at high schools, given her coffee. He'd been the only real father in her daughter's life. He'd sat there and listened to her cry over guy after guy. She'd gone from Christopher to Max to Alex to Jason, never realizing that Luke would be there through it all. She'd spent so much time searching for what had always been there. She'd been too blind to listen to everyone telling her that the man she loved was right in front of her.
But he was still here, and so was she. And she knew that anywhere she went now, he would follow. He was the only guy in the world for her, she realized, and he had been all along. And as she stepped back from his kiss, overwhelmed with everything that had happened, she raised her hand to his face.
"What are you doing?" His voice shook with emotion, trying to hide his fear that she wouldn't love him back. Her heart swelled up with love for the man who had always been there, who she had always love, and who'd loved her enough to wait until she understood that love. She'd spent her life searching for the whole package, and here it was right in front of her. She didn't want the world any more. He was enough.
"Would you just stand still?"
