A/N: Okay, so I'm a bit of a newbie to this whole thing so I would really apprieciate ANY advice you have for me. This first chapter is just a poem, but you'll see how it ties in to the story next chapter. Chapter 2 was actually going to be Chapter 1, but I liked the idea of having just the poem in the first chapter to kinda lay the ground work. Plus, it just seemed to be flowing in that direction so ... But Anyway... /scratches head/ I'm not totally sure of what else to say. By the way, this poem isn't my best work so /ppt/.PLEASE REVIEW! Chapter 2 will be up VERY soon. Probably tommorow but I won't make any promises.

Galloping heart

Still recovering my breath

So red, I can almost hear perspiration sizzle on my face

The sounds of our work still echo through the wood

The sounds of battle

I fought hard

Trained hard

But my feverish symptoms are not caused by such a trivial matter

"Hyaa! I can't believe you won again!"

My reply is cold

"Hn."

"You're a real jerk! Thinking your so much better!"

A smirk and a glare

You're ranting again

My mind constantly scolds me

Why that? Why again?

Such a simple and vague noise

Hn.

Was that even an answer?

Hn.

Hopeless.

If only.

If only you could know.

My brain urges me on,

TELL HIM

Tell him it's untrue!

TELL HIM

Of your envy!

Your admiration!

My mouth doesn't move.

The words fail to emerge.

My glare is set

Hard as stone

On your elegant features.

And as once again I'm accused

Accused

A "high-and-mighty jerk"

My glare stands true.

Glistening, forever frozen ice.

Unable to be in natural form.

To set on being solid, in control.

So, too late for reverse

It seems like an echo.

"Hn."

My one and only expression.
