Hello, all. This is the first in a collection of moments in the married life of Steve Rogers and Toni Stark. Enjoy, and don't forget to review.
Toni sat on the floor in front of the bed that she and Steve shared, fiddling with her wedding band. Almost all of her clothing was strewn out around the room, and it looked as if a tornado had hit.
"Miss," JARVIS suddenly announced, "Mister Rodgers is approaching the bedroom. I would suggest that you tidy your mess."
Toni gave out a distressed moan, ignoring JARVIS's advice.
Steve came into the room and stood in the doorway, looking around at the disastrous room.
"Are you okay?" he asked his wife, concern etched on his handsome face. "Did something happen?"
"Yes, something happened!" Toni declared, waving her arms around dramatically, "Do you know what happened when I tried to put on my shirt today? Do you?"
"I'm going to take a wild guess and say that it didn't fit."
"It didn't fit!" Toni wailed.
"…That is what I just said."
"And I gained, like, five pounds this week," Toni continued miserably, "and that is not okay!"
Steve knelt down next to his distressed wife and put his arms around her. "Sweetheart, it's natural to gain weight. Your doctor said it, Pepper said it, and you even said it-"
"That was before I got so damn fat," she interjected, poking him in his chest. "Not that you'd know anything about fat."
"No," Steve said dryly, sitting back on his hills and staring at Toni, "I was the size of a pre-pubescent girl for most of my life."
Toni threw a bunched up scarf at him. "We're talking about my problems here, Capcicle, not yours. Now shut up."
Steve rolled his eyes. He knew better than to comment on Toni's sudden mood swings.
"How about this," he said as he helped Toni to her feet, "tomorrow, we'll go shopping for maternity clothes."
Tony gave a small nod and leaned into her husband. He twisted his arm around her and placed it on her enlarged belly.
"He's kicking," they said in tandem, and smiled at one another.
