Holding his breath he looked over his lovers shoulder and ended up stareing into her beautiful bright eyes, so much like her fathers yet the same shade as his.
He was in awe at how tiny she was, little hands balled into even littler fist.
She was just so perfect
All paled skinned and rosy cheeked like him with a head full of straight black hair like her fathers.
He couldn't help but grin to himself.
He was a mommy.

He had forgotten all about his sister-in-law the moment the precious bundle was put into his hands.
He couldn't help but stare at it.
It was the ugliest thing he'd ever seen all red and blotchy, with a scrunched up face and a tiny wrinkled body.
And man how could something so tiny produce something so loud?
It must have had lungs of iorn becaus it was blowing like a horn!
He was beginning to panic.
The thing just wouldn't be quiet.
And yeah, he realized that maybe he should stop calling it a thing, but well, he'd always just assumed that babys were born all cute and soft like the kids he saw at the play ground near his house.
Not like this.
He began to pace with the little bundle in his arms, bouncing it as he walked and when that didn't work he began to coo at it and tickled it under it's chin.
Next thing he knew his finger was caught in little hands, startled he looked up into the babys face.
He couldn't believe it.
It had the lightest eyes he'd ever seen and he knew in that moment that they would change to be as brown(green) as it's...fathers?
And she was grining at him, all pinked gums and toothless.
Once she placed his finger into her mouth he knew that he'd been beat.
It was like the world shifted and suddenly it only consisted of him, his lover and the very precious bundle of pink.
He didn't even realize when he had stopped thinking of her and an 'it' and insted began seeing her as a little girl.
She didn't look ugly in his eyes any longer.
She suddenly became the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.
And he chuckled to himself and smiled.
He was a mommy.
