I slowly got up from my chair; grabbed my coat and walked towards the door. Ready to take a step outside, I am greeted by the sound of pouring rain. A sigh escaped my lips as I left Devil May Cry. "Dante!" Patty yelled from behind me, I turned my head slightly looking at her. "Where are you going?" she asked curiously. Ignoring her, I continued on my way. Looking up to the sky for a brief moment, the cold winter rain began hitting my face. My steps seized at the sight of an old headstone, I fell to my knees.

"I'm sorry..." " I couldn't protect you...I'm so sorry..." "All this...it happened 'cause of me...I'm sorry..." The rain had seized for a moment, letting few rays peek through the thick gray clouds that covered the sky. "I'll be back with flowers this time." I said slowly rising to my feet.

My fist hit the tree trunk beside me. Tears streaming down my face as I recalled what happened that day. "I'm so sorry..." I sobbed hiding my face in my arm against the tree. "Dante...Please don't cry" a gentle voice said. My fist hit the trunk again "I wasn't strong enough...I couldn't protect you...""Dante..." she said softly wrapping her arms around me. "I was the one who put you through all this pain...I'm sorry" she said as she tightened her grip.

I turned around "An illusion..." I muttered sliding down the side of the tree. I looked up at the sky, slowly closing my eyes. Tears rolled down my cold cheeks as an image of her came to mind. Her beautiful eyes, the touch of her skin against mine, the smell of her hair. Everything felt so real, an image of her beautiful smile filled my head. How could I let her slip away? The winter air caressed my cheeks bringing me back to reality. I slowly rose to my feet and headed back.

Feet up on my desk, I flipped through a magazine, listening to Patty's endless complaining. "Sparda..." "Welcome to your nightmare..." a voice whispered to me as my eyes slowly closed. "I'm grateful, you really don't have to do this." a young woman said sweetly. "I don't mind at all." mother responded with a smile. "Alright sweetie, I'll be back soon, be good." she said turning to the young girl beside her. She nodded as her mother patted her head smiling.

"Tony, Nelo. This is Amber. Please be kind to her during her stay with us." mother said with a soft smile. A smile curled on my lips, "Hey, I'm Tony. Nice to meet you." Her piercing blue eyes looked at me and my brother confused and I confused. He looked at her curiously as he gazed up at mom. "Amber? Is something the matter?" she asked, kneeled down in front of her. She remained silent. Examining everything with a cautious look. She shook her head in response, mother smiled gently.

She let out a giggle "She said you don't talk much." I grabbed her cold hand and pulled her out to the yard. "Got any siblings?" I asked sitting down beside her, hands behind my head. "No." She replied softly. "Anything you like to do?" brother asked. She remained silent, I looked at her with confusion as he let out a chuckle "At least she said something." A giggle escaped her lips, "I'm sorry." She said.

In an instant, fire filled the streets, screams filled the air. I ran as fast I could, I needed to find her. I yelled her name. I couldn't find her anywhere. As I got to her house, it was set a blaze, part of the roof came crashing down in my direction. "Tony! Look out!" she yelled from behind me. "Come on, this way." She said grabbing my hand. I put both hands on my knees, gasping for air. She gently placed her hand on my back peering down at me. "You okay?" she asked concerned. "I'm fine." I said looking up at her. "What's going on? Where's Nelo and mom?" She looked into the distance, eyes glowing red. "Demon." "Amber...?" I asked looking up at her. She smiled "I'm sure they're okay" I smiled back, I hope you're right...

Tears fell to my cheeks, "Come on, sleepy head, get up" she said softly. Her lips pressed softy against mine. My eyes flustered open, her smile greeting me. "I'll make you some breakfast." I watched her walk away, a smirk creeping on to my lips. Amber...

I threw my feet down, head between my legs, eyes wide open. Tears rolled down my cheek, a sigh escaped my lips as my head arose. What the hell is going on? Darkness filled the room, a pair of glowing red eyes appeared in the distance. A sense of drowsiness became of me; "Sparda..." a voice said emerging from the darkness. A grin formed on my lips, I grabbed a hold of Ebony and aimed the barrel at him. Finger on the trigger, my smirk grew larger as a loud bang echoed through the room.
