With the mood still hushed and quite serious at the moment, Harry, Ron and Hermione stepped down from the spiral staircase leading to the Headmaster's office to see Ginny and Neville as their conversation faded and they both looked over their shoulders. Harry's eyes fell on Ginny as did hers fall on him.

"Ron, maybe we should go talk to the others in the Great Hall," Hermione suggested as she took his hand and they awkwardly shuffled to the left where the entrance doors led.

"Er… I think I'll go write to my gran now. Y'know, tell her I helped defeat the dark lord…" Neville said and he escaped to the right.

Harry walked closer as Ginny did the same with a troubled half-smile on her face. Harry took her hand from her pocket and held it tenderly and said, "I'm so sorry about your brother-"

But he was interrupted by Ginny. "I don't want to think about that right now," she said. "It was painful enough when I thought you were gone forever." There was a slight pause. "That was amazing what you did, Harry," her voice was becoming louder as the two of them realized that they were truly alone. "And I couldn't help but realize that Voldemort won't be after me if we started dating again." Ginny flirtatiously lifted her heals up and back down again revealing a much calmer smile now that she's changed the subject.

"No, I don't think he could," Harry smiled back. He lifted his free hand and pushed a lock of her ratted, soot-covered hair from her face. "It was impossible to think about you while we were out there without feeling miserable. You were one of the things I missed most about this place. And when you're trying to destroy something that's been trying to kill you your whole life, it's easy to miss things."

"I missed you too. I couldn't stand not seeing you every day. Or my brother or Hermione for that matter…"

Harry chuckled and he rather confidently said, "Can your brother or Hermione do this?" And he leaned what only has to be less than half way because Ginny excitedly jumped forward to kiss him like she was twelve again and somehow secure enough to plant one on Harry Potter.
