Gollum watches........
He may not be the most beautiful creature nor the kindest but he has a heart and a soul at that. Many who hear of him hate him yet there is a pity on this old worn distorted hobbit. Who has seen way past his years no friends no family no one because of the ring. It took so much and left so little a small piece of jewelry has so much power that it can destroy even the strongest elv or isiatar.
Yet in the hands of a hobbit known to be the smallest and not too strong can be currupeted by just being in the sight of the ring. Poor Smeagol he did not know when he was born that he was destined to kill his bestfriend and take the most powerful object of his time and be corrupted by it. That he would one day fall to his grave in a firey chasem of doom and inivertently save middle earth. Yet Frodo Baggins got all the credit.
That is why Gollum watches.
He watches the happiness in the younger hobbit's face as his beloved master looks stronger, and he sees the sadness as Frodo's condition worsen and the ring slowly corrupts him.
He sees the look in Frodo's big blue eyes the growing darkness that dwells there that mirrors his own.
They're eyes. Frodo's eyes get bigger Gollum sees that he sees that slowly the ring makes him more and more like himself.
Gollum or Smeagol watches and see's the loveing care between these two friends that reminds him of of his and Deagol's friendship.
But Deagol is long gone and shall not come back. Smeagol seldom thinks of his fallen friend. Fallen by his own two hands.
No he watches everything not knowing his fate just seeing these two hobbits stronger then he or his cousin Deagol. Who carry the ring and yet still withold it's power and do not take it.
He often wonders if Sam will stradel Frodo in his sleep and take the ring. Yet he already knows that if Samwise Gamgee was to kill Frodo Baggins a piece of him would die.
Thats how friends are. You become a part of eachother.
