Description: One shot, what happens when you're too drunk to function or know what you're doing? Even when you still have feelings bottled up for an ex. Well, for Barney and Robin that means one night of drunken passion leads to something they never would do if sober. Although they would, it just takes a little bit of remembering the good times to do something they never thought would be possible again. Takes place after TT's wedding.

A/N: This is something that just came to me and you can say it comes from me just watching this episode of Friends but since I did love Ross and Rachel (yes I did at that time but since then I don't ship them like I used to however this made me think of something Barney and Robin would do). On Friends R/R got drunk then married each other without knowing but for Barney and Robin sex is usually involved but with Ross and Rachel sex wasn't involved at that time. B/R are different, when they're drunk it usually leads to them doing something stupid.

Also, there are no babies no Barney sleeping around and zero feelings for Ted in this. It's all B/R but they are sticking to the character development they had on the show. Which means only one thing.

"Wow, Ted has finally done it. He's married!" Barney says to Robin once everyone had gone their separate ways. With Ted finally married to the right girl, Marshall and Lily going home early to their kids it left Barney and Robin alone in the bar at 10pm.

"I can't believe he finally did it." Robin said taking a sip of her wine that she hadn't yet finished since the gang had been talking and laughing before the gang went their separate ways. Robin really can't believe Ted Mosby finally got married after all this time searching for The One. She didn't want to say this aloud but she's really happy for him and for Tracy who's become a good friend to her since she met her at her own wedding.

The night roar on and soon it was about midnight when the drinking finally stopped (for a little while) and the two former spouses were clear-headed enough to just have a nice conversation. One that neither until now wanted to have. They discussed their divorce.

"This is a nice picture of us all." Barney says as he shows Robin the picture he took of all six of their friends from early this evening after Ted and Tracy tied the knot.

"Yeah, we all look really happy. I remember a time when I was happy just like Tracy is with Ted." The two looked at each other for a minute then Barney went back to his phone in his hand looking at the pictures he took.

They never really talked about their divorce because they hadn't seen or spoke to each other since the divorce was finalized. It's been a weird and awkward few years for both of them. They hadn't spoke or seen each other but they hadn't stopped thinking about the divorce, the fights they had before it, everything just seemed like a whirlwind twister. It all happened so fast, one minute they were happy, in love and fully committed to one another for the rest of their lives. And, the next minute it all fell to pieces. In those three years of marriage everything they had thought they would have together went down the crapper and ever since then they haven't been happy. All they did since the divorce was think of each other and now they're sitting here after Ted finally got married looking at pictures from the wedding and the reception. Looking back at their own wedding remembering how happy they truly were.

"We were happy then. Weren't we?" Robin said looking at a picture Barney is showing her of their own wedding that he hadn't deleted from his phone or his memory. The picture showed them dancing their first dance as husband and wife with them dreamily gazing into each others eyes.

"Yeah, we were." They looked at each other for a second but that second became minutes and turned into an hour before they knew it they were kissing.

The kissing had stopped but only for a while to catch their breaths and realizing they were in public in a bar didn't help further anything more with them. They continued drinking and talking but all they were thinking was "I want you. Now!" They went back to his place hoping to talk but for them talking wasn't their strong suits. Showing has always been better for them than talking.

A few hours had past it was now 3am not knowing what happened in the two hours since coming back to Barney's apartment. They ended up in bed, not just any bed his bed which was once their bed when she was living in the apartment.

"Ahhhhhhhhh" Both of them screamed as they woke up in the bed they shared for those three years they were married.

"What? The? What happened? How did we end up here?" Robin asked after she calmed down enough from her shock of lying in bed with her ex husband not knowing why or how they got here without them realizing it.

"I don't..." Barney pauses and wipes his face with his hands trying to remember what happened and why it happened.

"Oh, my god I remember." Barney sits up on the bed showing his left hand to Robin who looked at her own left ring finger.

"We were talking, there was drinking, memories of our wedding, Ted's wedding and then everything else after that is a blur." Robin, remembers all too clearly what happened but she nor Barney knows why they're wearing wedding rings.

"How did we get these?" Barney says pointing to his ring and Robin's ring.

"I don't know..." Robin tries to remember the night before but doesn't know how they have wedding rings. Not just any wedding rings, their wedding rings the ones Barney had kept after the divorce and Robin had given back to him. He never had a real reason to get rid of these rings and kept them as a way to remember his love for Robin but he didn't think they would get back together or they/he would need them again. So he kept them and put them away in his box of memories he still had kept from their relationship. He had added, no they had added more things to the box before they got married and after they married. The things added were!

Their wedding album

A receipt from the restaurant where they went the weekend before their wedding

Pictures from their engagement (the one Patrice took on the night on the roof of the WWN building) Robin even yelled at Patrice that night for taking the picture wrong they all laugh at it now

Their marriage license

A bottle of scotch they had given to them as a wedding gift from Robin's dad

Cigars which were given to them as a wedding gift from the Barney's groomsman, Ted, Marshall and James had pitched in a bought them the cigars and celebrated with smoking them after the reception was over and the guests left

Some pictures from their honeymoon which included Barney's braids (they were both drunk on that day she challenged him to get those braids he didn't obey right away but after a few drinks he accepted her challenge).

And, some souvenirs from all over the world when they traveled for her work before they decided to divorce

After the divorce Barney had added their wedding rings to the box but Robin had kept her engagement ring which she sometimes wore around her neck when she feels lonely and misses home and Barney. Of course, she never told anyone not even Barney she still wears that ring but it's always meant something special to her so whenever she wants to, she'll wear that ring.

So, why are they now in bed together not knowing why they ended up here or why they are wearing their wedding rings?

"No, I didn't regret marrying you I loved you.

This is the first time Robin showed her true feelings on her marriage to Barney and their divorce.

He smiled, for the first time in four years he smiles and means it. Seeing Robin again was like fresh flowers just blooming, the sun beaming on a summer day, the smell of the ocean, the fresh cut grass of the Spring time, her favorite perfume or her lavender shampoo. Anytime he's around her it feels like old times, those times they shared together had never left him memories it sticks with him no matter how hard he tries to get over her she's always there. With her hair so shiny and a bit longer than the last time he saw her, her tight blue dress showing off every single curve to her awesome body, her lips as red as his face is right now, she's not only wear all these things but it also seems like she's happy. When he sees her for the first time in years and they hug it feels like she never left his arms.

The night went on nicely, they did talk about their relationship, did get a little drunk and did look at pictures but by the end of it all. They night was dead and the bar was too. They decided to catch a cab back to his place just in the casual friend way but really were they really friends or was there something more?

The more came later when they were looking at the box of their relationship over a lot a liquor and the memories from their relationship. They looked at the box and inside were the two rings they once wore, remembering their wedding after Ted and Tracy got married had brought back memories for both of them.

"We were happy. We messed everything up." Barney drunkenly blurts out.

He didn't want to say anything but his drunken mind went there and now he can't take it back.

The next thing he knew, she was kissing him after he had shown her that he had kept their wedding rings. After that everything after was a blurred memory neither knew about.

"Oh, now I remember." Barney blurts out as they both get dressed.

"I was showing you the rings, we had put them on just to see if they still fit our fingers. We had alcohol, and then I asked you if you regret the divorce. You said yes, so then I asked another question." Barney pauses and Robin finishes what he was going to say.

"You, asked me to marry you so we found an all night chapel. No, a church which had a priest. Oh, wow we got married didn't we?" She remembers and so does Barney it all makes sense to why they ended up in his bed with huge hangovers.

They got married after getting stinken drunk, putting on those rings and rushing to the nearest 24/7 church. And, now they know why they ended up in his bed. They had sex after their spur of the moment drunken detour of the church.

"Afraid so." Barney says looking at his left hand but without ever taking that huge grin off his face.

"So, we got married and now we're here." They both are quiet after she says this then she talks again.

"I guess it was those memories of our wedding, those pictures, the box, Ted's wedding, drinking and this." She goes to her purse and pulls out her engagement ring to show Barney that she's been carrying it around since their divorce.

"Oh, wow is that what I think it is?" Barney's shocked she still has that ring and a little surprised she hadn't sold it or something cause that divorce was painful for both of them at that time.

"Yeah." She says walking over to wear Barney is standing on his side of the bed putting on his watch.

"I kept it. Even though we divorced I didn't want a family ring to be with anyone else it would have been wrong for me to sell it or give it back to you when we weren't really talking after the divorce. So, I kept the ring because it's your families ring, your grandmothers ring and it meant a lot to me. I even had worn it a few times when I felt lonely and... Missed you." She tells him this not knowing what he would say and almost stopped herself from saying she misses him.

"You missed me?" This made his whole life to know that after all this time she was thinking of him and wearing her engagement ring. He had no idea she even thought of him that way but now he does which makes him feel relieved in that he can finally tell her what's been on his mind since they split up.

"I missed you too. God, I've missed you so much." He walked over to her and kissed her again this time he's clear-headed and open-minded about a possible reconnection and future for them both.

"I love you Robin. I have been miserable without you here. I've thought about you every second of every day." He tells her this after the kiss, their faces were blushed from the kiss but neither cared.

"I can't believe you kept the rings." Robin says after Barney puts her engagement ring back wear it belongs. On her finger!

"I couldn't let them go just like I can never let you go again." Their drunken reunion-one-night-stand-remarriage really opened their eyes again for the first time in four years.

"I love you Barney Scherbatsky." He smiles at the name she genuinely gave to him then kisses her again.
