Chapter 1: A nice friend
Her crying over Ron made Harry feel uncomfortable. He tried to calm her down but her crying was more aggravate than before. People surrounding them were exchanging glances with one another and Harry was sweating and gulping harder than usual.
'I don't make women cry.' Harry would say nervously to the people making faces at him.
"Hermione, please stop crying. I know that what you saw made you feel heartbroken, I know that Ron is stupid for liking Lavender but please stop crying in front of the Gryffindor portrait door. People are looking at me like I made you cry which of course I didn't." He said trying to be calm but was not successful.
She looked at Harry's beautiful green eyes. She liked looking at his eyes because it made her feel comfortable, the feeling that whenever she looks at his eyes, she would feel refreshed. But looking at his eyes was much more different than looking at Ron's eyes. Ron's great blue eyes would make you feel at lost or it would make your big problems disappear, oh how she would miss the Ron that would talk back Malfoy because he would tease her for being a mudblood or when she would start crying over a low grade. She would also miss the Ron that would tease her because of being a know-it-all, she would get mad but really, deep inside she feels happy when Ron would tease her.
"Harry", she called to him in a whispery voice.
"Yes?" he looked at her quickly and paused for a few minutes then he looked relieved. Maybe because Hermione has stopped crying like a child lost from its mother's hands.
"I think Ron is such a fool for liking that hideous person", she said quickly.
"Yeah, I- what?" Harry confusingly said.
"I said, 'Ron is such a fool for liking such a hideous person' don't you think?" she roughly said while looking at her shoes pretending there was something wrong with it.
"I-I think… well, maybe, I don't know…" Harry couldn't find the right words to express so instead of saying such unnecessary words he kept his mouth shut.
She just observed now that when he says such unimportant words his eyes would blink uncontrollable then his mouth would shut automatically. Weird is the first thing that came to her mind.
Harry is the only person she would go and cry whenever she has problems with Ron. He doesn't mind her crying, blasting him with spells; he doesn't mind it because what made her cry or what pained her really hurts her so much that she needs to stressed her anger on someone. All the things that Harry did to her were something a true friend would do and she was glad she had a friend like Harry.
"Thank you Harry", she finally said.
"Uh thanks for what Hermione?" Harry surprisingly said.
"For being such a nice friend"
"Uh, sure. No problem."
They went inside the portrait door and Harry waved her good-night then went inside the boy's dormitory. She was left there at the common room and instead of going inside the girl's dormitory she slept at the sofa where it is warm.
