Hello, citizens of the Artemis Fowl Fandom! This is my first FanFic, and I really need to know if I'm heading in the right direction. Mind giving me a hand by rating and reviewing? Thx a lot! Anyway, on with the show! I always wondered what would happen if Foaly had not been with the People. Would they live on and continue to advance, or would Foaly's death have a huge impact on technological improvement? Let's find out! Enjoy!

Captain Holly Short of the Lower Elements Police had a huge problem. However, just her would be a huge understatement; the whole race of the fairy people were having a problem. Foaly had gone home after a long night's worth or work in the Operations Booth of Police Plaza, and apparently hasn't been back in a month. His house has been searched, his lab checked, not even Caballine, Foaly's beloved wife, was not aware of where that crazy centaur had gone off too. Foaly wouldn't even buy a new shirt without making the stallion of his life aware that he was doing so.

Since then, Haven City is currently looking for him. They've put holo-pics of Foaly on every thing standing steady in the ground, cross-referenced his face with every piece of surveillance on and under the planet (twice). They've even checked many residents of the People's capitol with a Retimager.

Nothing.

Currently, Holly Short was being sent to Fowl Manor, on orders from the council members themselves, to see if Artemis could help them with their centaur problem (or, as some members of the council would say, to make sure he didn't kidnap Foaly himself). She was currently flying from E1: Tara on her new set of Hawk Wings, which have been improved to be faster and more fuel efficient that the Hummingbird or even the Koboi DoubleDex. The best and fastest way of aboveground transportation.

Foaly designed those wings.

Before she knocked, Holly e-messaged Butler, making him aware that she was just outside the front door. She could have e-messaged Artemis, but she needed to keep Butler from having a heart attack. Those kinda things can happen to 65-year-old bodyguards who can get quite jumpy.

Butler took a second to open the door and looked down at his fellow soldier friend with a smile plastering his face. However, when Holly did not return that smile, he knew something was wrong.

"Holly," he started. Then he took example from his Principal, Artemis, and observed. "You are carrying your Neutrino, and did not alert me of your arrival. Furthermore, you were approved a flight to aboveground, which makes me assume that you are not here for a picnic. If people had picnics at 10:30 at night."

Holly was impressed. "You are certainly sounding like your master, friend."

"What's the situation?" asked the manservant, ready for action.

Holly explained the situation as it was, and why she was here. The Eurasian giant was already pulling out his phone when he heard Foaly missing.

"I should probably get Artemis," he suggested, quite unneeded. "He'll want to be able to help right away."

"Where is that Mud Boy, anyhow?" Holly asked out loud.

For once, in the middle of business, Artemis smirked. "Oh, he's doing what any regular teenage boy would do: take girls out to play card games."
