A/N: So, JinKo is my OTP for A:TLA. So I just had to write up something for them. And I realized there were very few 'wedding fics'. I decided to write on.
Zuko stood next to Jin in front of the Fire Sages. After the ceremony was complete, Zuko kissed Jin. It was a more intimate kiss than their first one; they had come a long way since Zuko had been Lee in Ba Sing Se.
Zuko led Jin to their banquet table.
"I'm so glad to be here, Jin. Especially with you." Jin smiled. Although she wore a traditional Fire Nation wedding dress, she had done her hair in the traditional style of the Earth Kingdom.
"Me too, Lee." Even though Jin knew now that Zuko was the Fire Lord, she still called him Lee.
"Congratulations on your marriage, your fieriness. May you and your wife be blessed." Avatar Aang had arrived, with Katara.
"I'm so happy for you, Zuko." Katara said.
"Thank you, Avatar. Thank you, Katara." Zuko replied. Part of him wished everyone would leave him alone with Jin for a few minutes.
"Um, Zuko, could I talk to you in private?" Aang asked.
"Certainly." Zuko got up. "Please excuse me, Jin."
"Sure. Just... come back sooner than two years later." Zuko grinned.
"Not gonna let that go, are you?" Zuko teased.
"Nope."
Aang and Zuko walked to a quiet corner.
"Zuko, I guess I should have asked you this sooner. Do you really love Jin?"
"Of course I do, Aang! I would not be here today if I didn't."
"OK, OK. It's just... this is a majorly political marriage. I mean, the Fire Lord has just married a girl from the Earth Kingdom. It's... historic."
"Aang, believe me when I tell you that the political advantages are just a bonus. I married Jin because I love her. Plain and simple."
"I'm so glad to hear that. I better let you go back to her now." Aang and Zuko walked back to the table where Jin and Katara were laughing about something Sokka (who Zuko had not seen coming) had said.
Yes, today was a historic day. Zuko was happier than he had been in years. And the reason was Jin.
