To say that Loki hated water was an understatement. He despised it. It was all just so free and languid and wet. The aspect of floating around in grimey water with infectuous sea creatures was appaling to someone who was so refined and controlled as he. So none of this explained what he was doing on the rocks of Asgard's shore late at night.
"Brother!" Oh. That's why. "Brother, come join me! The water is most refreshing!"
Loki sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, much like he did anytime Thor was being incompetant.
"I can assure you, Thor, I'm fine here." The god punctuated by pulling his cloak tighter around his lean form. His body wasn't exactly cut out for something so arduous as swimming.
Thor just laughed and pushed himself back from the rocks, floating on his back under the moon. The lights glistened off his skin, the tiny rivulets of water sliding down his chest and arms. Loki sucked in a breath at the sight and shivered.
He shouldn't think about things like that, but it was just so hard with Thor being the way he was.. so strong, and friendly, but sometimes his brother could be so ignorant. Didn't he know the things he did to Loki? All the pain, all the hearttache.. all the nights Loki spent moaning Thor's name into his pillow.
The dark haired man shook his head and looked out over the water instead, hoping to find something interesting. Nope, still hated it.
"Loki!" Thor called off from the side, probably drowning. Hopefully.
"What Tho-"
Have you ever had a starfish attach itself to your face? Loki has. Two, actually. One in his hair which he spends so many hours on in the mornings.
Thor thought this was the funniest thing in Asgard. Loki did not.
"THOR. YOU IMBECILE. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW DISGUSTING THIS IS?! YOU'RE AN IDIOT. I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU. YOU'RE VILE AND CRUEL AND-"
And then there was a warmth on his lips.
Thor was kissing him. His rough, chapped, yet beautifully warm lips were on his own. And once Loki realized what was going on, that small bud of warmth blossomed all over his body, from his head to his toes. It sizzled in his belly and dizzied his head.
The older Aesir held his younger brother's waist and pulled him forward, craning his neck and pushing for more. Loki breathed in heavily through his nose and fought against the rolling waves in his belly. The young Jotun held Thor's head in his hands and just..prayed. Prayed that it would never end. Prayed that Thor wouldn't realize what he was doing. But then again, Loki hoped he knew exactly what was going on. Hoped Thor felt the shiver of Loki's spine, the clenching of his stomach, or the warmth in his pants.
Thor broke the kiss and smiled up at Loki. And dragged his brother into the water.
For once, Loki didn't hate the water.. much.
