"It's that boy from your school! He's in your house I believe. That boy with the glasses and the HAIR. " Lily's mother made vigorous motions around the vicinity of her head.
No, no, NO! Lily was stunned. It couldn't be. HE wouldn't, shouldn't be here. This was her sanctuary. Surely her mother had met some other NICE glasses wearing bloke from Hogwarts. Lily felt a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. There was only one boy at Hogwarts whose hair required such hand motions as to describe it.
As if voicing Lily's thoughts, although in a more amiable way, her mother snapped her fingers. "Potter! I remember now, from the platform. Oh, such a lovely charming young man." Lily's mother smiled dreamily, no doubt reminiscing about how CHARMING James, no, Potter had been to HER. The prat. If only she knew his true colors.
The doorbell rang suddenly. "Oh!" Lily's mother snapped out of her reverie. "I might have forgotten to mention that he seemed very keen to call on you." She added almost as an afterthought, "So I invited him to lunch." She then left Lily frozen in her wake as she went to answer the door.
The sound of James', bloody hell no, POTTER's deep voice startled her out of her near comatose state. "Of course." she thought to herself, there was no way Potter would pass up a chance to see her. After all, the bloke swore that he was madly in love with her, but Lily was not so inclined to believe such utter rubbish.
The boy was the most talented person she had ever met. He was brilliant in classes thought he had never set foot in the library, except to stalk her from behind the massive bookshelves. He had charm; all of Hogwarts fell at his feet, she swore even Professor McGonagall secretly fancied him. He was an extraordinary Quidditch player, Gryffindor never lost a match since he got on the team and he had just recently been made Quidditch Captain. To top it all, he was fit too. Hazel eyes that sparkled with intelligence and mischief from behind wire-rimmed glasses, eyelashes girls would kill for, sensual full lips and a body lean and toned from countless hours of exercise. However, all that was ruined by his egotistical attitude. All the aforementioned attributes made him a god at Hogwarts and the worst thing was HE KNEW IT and boy, did he flaunt it. He thought his insanely good looks meant that girls should fall at his feet and his popularity meant he could be inconsiderate to everyone else. His favorite pastime had been hexing other students in the hallways, simply to show off. He was bloody arrogant and Lily hated him, with a vengeance.
It was really such a shame, she sighed, all that talent and potential, wasted on some unconscientious prick. Well, it was time to face the music as she resignedly heard her mother's voice calling her over to greet their guest. As Lily took slow methodical steps towards the front door, and ultimately James Potter, she felt as if she were headed for the guillotine. This certainly did not bode well for James.
AN: My first! Okay maybe not the first I've ever written but still, the first to début in public. Take care of my baby :) Reviews are diamonds.
