The sounds of footsteps eradiated form the darkest pits of the hallway. The little platypus grew nervous; he had never had to work with anyone before, especially a new recruit. His fedora slipped over his eyes, causing shadow people to come in and dance. 'AH,' he chattered, quickly swatting the hat off from his eyes. The shadows dispersed quickly, causing the platypus to gain nothing but a severe headache. The small creature's head hit the desk, giving up the never endless fight between the people. A sudden clearing of a throat made him jump. Fearing it was Major Monogram, he turned in attention.
'No need to do that,' chattered new voice, 'I'm not Major Monogram.' The young platypus opened one eye, just to make sure it wasn't a test. To his surprise, it wasn't a test, in fact, a younger female platypus stood there, brushing off his fedora. 'Here,' she chattered handing it to him, 'you lost this.' He looked down at the small light blue hand which grasped his fedora. He gently took the back of it, realizing that he wasn't much bigger than her.
She left her hand out. 'My name's Patricia,' she chattered, 'I'm the new recruit, as well as,' 'My partner,' he said taking her hand, 'It's nice to meet you Patricia, I'm Perry.' She chuckled. 'Jeesh, barely even 5 and a boy's already a gentleman,' she joked, 'It must be a miracle.' 'Don't get to used to it,' he smirked, 'most of them aren't as 'gentleman-like' as I am.'
She chuckled. 'Well,' she chattered, arms spreading, 'why haven't you offered a tour yet?' Perry stared at her, dumbfounded. 'Um,' he murmured, 'would you like a tour?' Patricia smiled, 'I thought you'd never ask.'
Little did these two know was that this was just the beginning, to a lifelong plan….
