"Darth Vader." The hologram of the Emperor flashed before his servant
"Yes, my Lord?" The black clad Jedi bowed to the flickering image.
"We have received evidence that a rouge human on a distant planet called Earth is planning to destroy all non-wizarding humans."
"I am well aware. The force is strong within him."
"If this "Voldemort" succeeds, he could present a threat to the Empire."
"I understand. I will not allow him to get in the way."
Harry Potter stood in the Great Hall, the only clear space in it lay before him, wizards and witches crowded against the walls, silent in anxiety.
"You won't defeat me, Tom Riddle," Harry said, staring his opponent down. "You've already lost."
"Potter," Riddle's reedy voice gasped, "do not be naïve: the age of Pure Blood Wizards is about to begin. You have defied us, only to have fought in vain."
Harry was about to respond when a deep, cavernous voice filled the Great Hall. "You are too arrogant, Tom Riddle," the voice said. The hall stirred at the sudden, frightening voice. "It will prove your undoing."

Riddle's eyes bulged and his head twisted about as if manipulated by some invisible hand. His wand quavered as he gasped for air, trying to recite the curse. Finally, his arm fell limp to his side, and the wand clattered on the floor. His eyes rolled back into his head, as his body crumpled into a dead heap.
From that day on, the dark wizards bestowed upon Harry the title of the "Dark Lord."
