Author's Note: The rhythm of this poem sort of turned out to go along with parts of the tune from that "To yourself be true" song at the end of the Tinker Bell movie. I didn't exactly plan that, but I went along with it once the pattern started to develop. I can't help it - being influenced by the tune of the movie's theme song is just part of the way my mind works when I write. :)
I do admire and like both Captain James Hook and Vidia. I understand they're cruel sometimes, but they're still cute. They ARE Disney characters!
A quick little wail, then a laugh
A new mother shouts out in joy
"My Jimmy, you're a wonder and a half!"
And his little eyes light up with fun
In the garden, a seed-fluff takes flight
Rising swift and sure on the wind
Spiraling into the night
Vidia's life has begun
As they grew, he changed, but she didn't
In his tenth year
They seemed much the same
The tall young boy
And the fairy of winds
Both sure winning's the name of the game
Years passed, and he found his true place
As she had always known hers
She with sky, and he on the waves
And their strength was respected by all
With her hands outstretched in the sky
Tiny Vidia billows his sails
As he watches the coast passing by
Captain James stands commanding and tall
Two hearts, born the same moment
Proud and difficult
Strong-willed and free
A fast-flying fairy
A swift-sailing captain
Without them both, where would we be?
