The Beginning, chapter 1
It had been three days since the incident. Everything was the same but different at the all at once. Daisuke woke early to find himself alone again. No matter how many times he woke, no matter how many times he wished it would never be the same again. As he stood to walk his legs shook. He paused for a minute, just to make sure he wouldn't stumble. The sun danced across the room and hit his face. He smiled as the warm light hit his face. Regaining his balance, he made his way towards the door. He could hear the distant sounds of the morning rush walked down the stairs. The sun was already bright and lit the kitchen as he walked across the room. Not even glancing around, he moved towards the fridge to prepare breakfast. As he walked towards the fridge a cool breeze drifted in through an open window. It floated across the room and rushed across him. In the distance he could hear a chuckle. It was a deep voice and it seemed to cut through the air. He looked up and out the window, hoping that that familiar face would be in the window, staring in wanting to come back.
The morning was a rush. School was the same as usual. Teacher went on with nonsense and the same old lesson as usual. At lunch Daisuke grabbed his lunch and walked towards the door to leave when he was suddenly pulled aside. He was pulled to a seat and flung down. He looked up to find himself staring into Mio's big eyes.
"Daisuke, how come you haven't said hi to me today?"
"Oh, well, I guess I haven't been my self today"
"Well, how are we supposed to get married when you don't..."
Daisuke new she was talking but couldn't take his eyes off the window. The shape that had just flown by. A big dark object with wings. Maybe it was him. Maybe he had come back for him. Maybe he did still love him. But it flew by so fast, why didn't it stop? Didn't it realize that he was there? There it was again. It looked identical to him. But again it flew right by and didn't stop.
He couldn't take it anymore. Throwing Mio's arm off him he jumped up and ran towards the door. As he ran down the hall people stared. He kept running and running all the way to the shore line where he finally fell. It was hard to catch his breath and he sat there for a while waiting to recover so he could run again. Run far away so he didn't have to see anyone. He rose and looked out at the sea. The warm sun was jus setting and the crimson light bounced off the water casting glow around the beach. He turned to walk when he saw a giant shadow float across the ground. He stopped and looked up but could see nothing but the clear sky. Once again he put his head down and began the long walk home. His feet were aching when he reached his front steps. He grabbed the door handle and entered the house. As he took off his shoes he sighed.
"I guess it will never be the same," he thought as he walked towards his room.
He climbed the stairs to his room and pushed open the door. As he entered and looked up, his heart stopped. He was frozen to the spot and couldn't move.
"Hello Daisuke", said a deep voice.
The end
