A/N: Another missing scene with Pearl. She is my favourite old-vamp at the moment. She's really pretty and she has something lady-like that was missing for me whenever I saw Katherine. Besides, I wanted to show Pearls motherly feelings that were not really showed…

"Oh my poor baby..." whispered Pearl as she settled down against a stone wall.
She looked around at the other vampires that were now all gathered near her. One of them returned her glance with a grim face. He frowned and then looked down at his intertwined fingers that lay lifeless in his lap.
He sat very still for a moment, until he took an unnecessary breath and spoke, "We should make some ground rules..."
All the other vampires who had been sitting near them in silence now looked up at him. They stayed silent until he continued.
"We don't know how long we will be here for... It might be for days, months or even years..." Here he paused, making the silence seem dramatic before he continued.
"As it is, we might not even ever be freed... we don't know this. So, before we start attacking each other in blood thirst... I suggest that we all agree to not..."
Pearl was confused for a moment before she understood what it was that he was suggesting. He was right, thought Pearl, sooner or later the thirst they were exhibiting would drive them to attack each other.
A female vampire with a porcelain face suddenly spoke up, "But if we don't drink blood we will die!" He voice was laced with desperation and fear. The fear of someone young, not having lived a long un-dead life yet.
Pearl knew that the girl was a new one and rather inexperienced. She was also very young in human looks, if she had to guess she'd estimate her age near Annabelle's.
Oh my poor little Annabelle... my poor sweet little child.
"That only shows how much you know!" sneered one male vampire. He had been a nobleman in society. "We vampires don't die! We can't die... not of thirst..."
Silence settled again over the group. But soon enough the young vampire started to ask again questions. "But if we don't die of thirst, then what else will happen to us? What will happen if we don't die...and yet can't get out here?"
Her panic filled the air, and yet no one answered her.
A moment later the same vampire who started this conversation turned his head in her direction and finally spoke. It wasn't anything any of the gathered wanted to hear or speak of, but it was as close to the truth that he was willing to speak out-loud.
"We won't die... we will descend into a sleep like state. In this sleep like state nothing will matter. The body will mummify while the mind will sleep..."
Pearl turned her head away from the gathered crowd; she wasn't listening to the talk anymore. Instead her thoughts turned to her daughter; her sweet poor little Annabelle, who was now all alone outside. In a world much too big and cruel for her.
Her heart was heavy thinking of how lost her daughter would be, now that she was all alone. And Pearl knew that her last thoughts just before she fell into the mindless sleep would be of the child she left behind.
