Fall Away

A/N- Sorry that I'm taking a million years on WTW! Writers block is a bitch. The idea for this story has been floating around in my head for forever. So please please please forgive me for my horrible updating efficiency. Enjoy!
You left something undone, it's now your rerun

"Ok it's Derek's turn now. Have you ever been in love?"
It was senior year of high school. "The gang" was all 18 now. The gang was Casey and Derek's group of friends. Yes, they actually associated with each other. It consisted of Derek and Casey of course, Emily, Trevor, Sam, and Lucy. Emily and Trevor were dating now as were Sam and Lucy. Sometimes others joined the group but it was usually just the six of them. Tonight the gang was at the Macdonald/Venturi residence basically playing Truth or Dare. Without the dares or the title. The friends decided that it would be fun to ask each other questions. Emily was the last one to speak with her question to Derek.
"So...have you?" She prodded.
"I'm not answering that." Derek responded lazily.
"Way to be a party pooper!" Emily exclaimed.
"Aren't we mature." Trevor commented. Emily shot him a mock glare and he just shrugged back.
"You can't honestly tell us that you've never been in love. I mean, look at the number of girls you've been with. You must have liked someone." It was very interesting for Lucy to make this comment, seeing as she had been one of his "girls."
"I'm not answering." Derek repeated.
"Come on, D. What about that girl you were with the summer before Grade 10? The one you wouldn't let anyone meet. You seemed to be pretty in love with her." Sam said nudging his best friend.
"Sam, don't." Derek pleaded.
"Aww come on. What ever happened to her anyway?"
"Sam, stop it." Derek warned.
"What? Did you get her pregnant of something and she had to be shipped off to one of those boarding schools-"
"Hey guys, let's just do something else and leave him alone. He's obviously not going to answer and this game is getting boring anyway." It was Casey who spoke.
"Fiiiine." Emily responded getting off of Trevor's lap to go find a retrieve the tv remote.
"Wait," Derek said. " You know what? You're right, Sam. Not about the pregnant thing but I really did love her. And I think always will."
Everyone stared at him in disbelief. Had he really just said that? A tear began to roll down Casey's cheek.
"Good night, everyone! I'm dead tired." With that he left the room. They all looked at each other and shrugged.
About an hour later, everyone left. When the final person was gone, Casey ran upstairs. She found a piece of paper and scribbled out a message. She saw that Derek's door was open and he was in the bathroom. She dropped the paper on his bed and then rushed to her room.
Derek returned to his room and found a piece of paper on his bed. Scrawled on it were three words in Casey's handwriting.
"I miss you"
He walked over to her room and knocked on the door.
"Come in." She called.
When he opened the door she sat on her bed looking up at him and spoke.
"I never stopped loving you either."
