Second Chances

~KFJ~

The streets were dark and cold. Her coat-less arms shivered as the falling snow soaked into her thin tights. She knew she should have grabbed a coat before she left, but that wasn't on her mind when she'd snuck out. She had only grabbed the eccentuals; a couple shirts, a few pairs of pants, some under things, and a spare set of sneakers, all shoved into a small backpack. Her current clothes; a thin pink long-sleeve shirt, a purple skirt, some black tights, and her combat boots; were sopping wet, and offered little protection from the blowing wind.

She checked her pocket, only a couple dollars left. Enough cash for dinner, but she'd have to stay in a warehouse to night. At that thought her stomack growlled loudly. She hadn't eaten for two days, and it was starting to wear on her. She quickly came upon a diner, it read 'Star City Diner! Open 24/7!' in bold neon letters. She went in side, and ordered, a cheeseburger, some fries, and a strawberry milkshake. As she ate, she pondered what made her come to Star City.

It was as good a destination as any, but it held meaning. It was home to the most annoying superhero ever, Kid Flash. After showing-up Madam Rouge at that warehouse, and finding that rose, she made the decision that had been nagging her for weeks. She would quit villainy. It just wasn't what it used to be. Every time the robbed someone, all she could think about was there pleading eyes, and their begging not to hurt them. They only ruffed 'em up a bit, then let the people go, but it was starting to get to her. The Kid Flash thing was the last straw, after that she had ran back to the base, and started packing.

In her destroyed room, she had found another rose. This one had a note attached to it. 'If you need a place to stay, Kid Flash.' On the back was an address. She wasn't planning on going there when she left, but a week later, she would herself standing in front of a sign that said, 'Welcome To Star City!'. That was two hours ago, sense then, she had wandered around and found the address on the back of the note. It was a small apartment in a nice part of town. She had started looking for a place to stay after that.

Her train of thought derailed when she realized Kid Flash had just walked into the diner. 'He must have followed me!' She thought, panicked. She let out a small sigh of relief when he walked right past her, he must not have noticed her in the dark corner booth, but she had to get out of there before he noticed her. When he turrned the other way to order, she snuck out the side entrance, and ran down the block.

How was that? To much thought? Please review and tell me!
