Erza happily walked down the streets of Magnolia, holding a little square box, and was happy enough to wave a cheerful hello to everyone that walked by.
Gray, on the other hand, was in the worst mood, ever. Imagine a girl on her period, now, times it by 50.
He had opened the door to he and his girlfriends shared house and noticed absolutely, nothing, that had a tinge to do with his birthday.
He even crawled under the fireplace for goodness sakes.
No one at work congratulated him on turning 21, not even a single glance in his way to prove that they were planning something.
It was just another lousy day at work!
He threw his bag on the couch and went upstairs to change out of his suit, ruffling his hair, he gave a low sigh.
Erza peeked out from the sink cabinets, thanking herself for not placing any sort of item in there.
She giggled slightly and stepped out of the cabinets, careful not to make a noise, and grabbed the small square box at her side.
And opened it.
Inside was a small cake, perfect for two, covered in shreds of chocolate, chocolate icing, sprinkles and on it was written in delicate cursive, 'Happy Birthday Gray!' Which she requested to write it herself using the chocolate icing.
Hearing a few thumps, coming from the stairs, she quickly stashed the cake back inside the sink cabinet.
She brushed her hands on her pants and placed on a apron.
Gray came downstairs in his usual attire and looked up to see Erza, attempting to cook, he chuckled.
Even if he was in a bad mood, he still can't suppress a laugh when Erza is cooking.
There she was, scarlet hair in a messy bun and trying to make some pasta.
She turned around slightly and gave Gray, who was trying not to crack up, a withering look and resumed cooking.
With all the bad mood erased, he lightly crept up behind her and gave her a huge hug.
Erza let out a small shriek and squished her eyes shut.
"Stop that! I've gotta cook dinner!"
"We all know you can't cook dinner, Erza. But thanks for trying anyway, especially today."
"Today? W-what's today?"
The arms that were wrapped around immediately retreated.
Turning around, Erza found herself face-to-face with a upset-looking Gray.
"Gray..." She reached for his arm but he pulled it back.
"Gray... Happy birthday!" Erza spread her arm wide and tackled Gray.
"Wait... What?"
"I remembered silly, oh also, the gangs coming here soon, and I got the ca-"
She couldn't finish her sentence as Gray bear-hugged her.
"Gray, the cake..."
"Oh pish posh, we got a few minutes to spare..."
With that, Gray leaned in for a small kiss.
It was the best day of his life.
THIS IS SOOOOO LATE. I AM SOOOOO SORRY. FORGIVE ME. ;-;
OKAY BYEEEE.
