Rose never did like huge crowds, but she especially disliked them when she was crammed into the corner of the train station, people bustling around her while she had absolutely no one to talk to.

Well...

There was someone...

She peeked up from her magazine, carefully trying with all her might to be as discreet as possible, and looked through fiery red bangs until her eyes fell on a handsome head of blond hair, belong to a wiry young man standing in the corner directly opposite her. Rose felt her cheeks heat up and she cursed her fathers pale complexion that he had so generously bestowed upon her. She quickly flicked her eyes down to her magazine, willing her blush away and trying to melt back into the wall. Young witch or not, even that seemed impossible. However, her curiosity got the better of her and she glanced up again (big mistake), only to see glacial blue eyes staring at her. Her blush came back with a vengeance and she could practically hear him smirking at her from the other side of the room.

Rose turned around, her back facing him, her nose dangerously close to the corner where the two concrete slabs met. "You stupid boy," She said. "You stupid boy, Scorpius. Stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid!" She rested her head on the wall, catching her breath. She could feel him staring at her, intense gaze boring holes into her back. It only got stronger as she finished her whispered rant into the wall. Suddenly, she wished he could hear her and was grateful that he couldn't all at the same time.

"I love you," She whispered. Then she glanced out of the corner of her eye. She was surprised to see Scorpius still standing in his respective corner on the other side of the room, eyes wide in surprise and his ears a delightful shade of scarlet. He frowned, eyebrows crinkling, and then he turned to face the corner. Then suddenly, she could hear him as clearly as if he had been standing right next to her.

"It's a whispering corner you idiot! I can hear you!"

"H-how—?!" Rose squeaked, almost dropping her magazine.

"I-I'm not going to explain the physics of sound to you, I just—I just—Oh, Bollucks!" He took a deep breath and it chilled her how well she could hear it. "I love you, too."

Rose turned around and stared at him, standing rigid with his back to her, shoulders tensed and hands balled into fists. His ears were still glowing a glorious vermillion.

"Oh." Dammit, her face was turning red again. She'd match her hair by the end of the day.
