A/N-Written for a prompt on tumblr. And when I say almost mpreg I mean almost.

It started out like any other normal day for Dean Winchester, waking up in his normal house, going to his normal (and sometimes a bit boring) job at Bobby's garage, treating Cas out to lunch during their breaks, like always, and then having his daily conversation with Sam while he made dinner and waited for Cas to leave the local university, where he teaches British and American Literature. Things started to shy away from normal when Sam started to talk about proposing to his girlfriend Jess. He was fine with it, of course, and already thought of her as a sister, but it was still disrupting the norm- not that he was going to tell his brother that- a bit.

For the longest time it had been just him and Sammy. The brothers against the world. Then Cas came along and it took a while for everyone to adjust, but it happened anyway. Dean figured it would be the same with Jess.

The next thing to happen that was a tad unusual was Cas being late. He would usually tell Dean at lunch if he was planning to stay late or something like that. A quick phone call, while adding the finishing touches to his famous Friday night goulash, cleared it up; a few students stayed after class to discuss their term papers. Cas also said it was OK to start eating because he was going to be home in less than ten minutes. Dean agreed but thought Cas sounded distant for some reason. And not even ten minutes later, Cas came in through the garage door, placed his trench coat and briefcase on the counter, and sat down at his normal spot across from Dean.

Cas loaded his plate with food but wouldn't look at Dean in the eye.

Dean sat back in his chair and spoke slowly. "Cas"

Cas started to fiddle with his hands in his lap.

"Cas, do you have something to tell me?"

"Dean...I uh…I don't know-"

"Just spit it out, Cas."

"Fine Dean, I'm pregnant."

Dean thought he misheard Cas. "Wait who's pregnant? Because for second I thought you said that it was you."

"I am Dean."

"How?" Dean said still utterly confused

Cas finally looked up. "Well I was really sick this morning, I noticed I had been gaining some weight, and I've had really weird cravings."

Dean sat a moment and thought; once the confusion passed he started to laugh.

"Stop Dean! it's not funny."

"Yes it is, 'cause you're not pregnant, dumbass."

"But…But what about all the symptoms. I googled them and it said that they were all signs of being pregnant."

"Cas, men can't get pregnant." He started to laugh harder. When they first started dating Dean thought Cas had been living in a cave his whole life. This just made his conclusion even truer.

"What about all the stuff that's happening?"

"Well maybe you were so sick this morning because last night you had three cheeseburgers and almost a full gallon of ice cream."

"Yeah, I guess that makes sense, but what about the others."

Dean managed to stop laughing but still had a wide grin on his face. "Well to me, you always have strange cravings. And you also stopped going on a morning run with me. That's probably why you're getting a stomach."

Cas nodded and returned to eating. "Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm also sorry if I got your hopes up about being a father."

"Nah, you're fine. I'm just sorry you didn't know male pregnancies didn't exist."

With that they finished their meals, talking about how their days went. And Dean couldn't stop thinking about how much of an idiot Cas was sometimes and how much he loved that idiot.
