The Concerto

There were a few things that popped into Chiaki Shinichi's mind when he saw Nodame on TV…performing for the masses.
One was Nodame wasn't missing.
The second was what the hell was Nodame doing on TV? And with Stressman?
Chiaki didn't know whether to be pissed at Nodame for worrying him or be pissed at the fact that he wasn't the one conducting the concerto.
Didn't they promise to perform on stage together? Whatever happened to that?
'Oh yeah, it's probably like her marriage proposal earlier that week', he thought bitterly. Everything was always a joke to her. Their relationship (always saying "I love you" or "This is my husband, Chiaki" randomly), her on the whim proposal…
But then why, Chiaki thought to himself, did it hurt? He was surprised to hear Nodame propose marriage to him. He had never seen that seriousness in her eyes before…except whenever she was concentrating really hard in playing a particular piece on the piano. So supposed that proposal was indeed as serious as that…
At the sound of Nodame's piano, he looked up at the TV screen and wondered if she'll forgive him.
But right now, he just wanted to sit and listen to Nodame's concerto along with everyone else in the audience.
However, he wasn't just anyone else, he was Chiaki Shinichi…the person that fell in love with Nodame, her haphazard piano playing, and her weirdo land.
Even though he didn't want to admit it.
