The Caine residence was busy. It was Mother's Day. In the kitchen CSI Lieutenant Horatio Caine and his two children 4 year old Aleisha Caine and 7 year old Samuel Caine were making breakfast in bed for their mother; Sam was making the pancakes, Aleisha made the toast and poured the orange juice and Horatio supervised.
Sam looked at his father "dad I think 8 pancakes is enough" he said, Horatio looked away from his daughter buttering her fifth piece of toast to look at his son "yeah, turn the frying pan off and put honey on each" he instructed "Daddy, you are not watching" Aleisha called to him.
Horatio looked back at his daughter who smiled and went back to spreading peanut butter on the toast "Leisha shut it or you'll wake mom" Sam said "Daddy, Sammy told me to shut it" Aleisha whined and Horatio just chuckled "you know if we don't finish soon your mother is going to wake on her own accord" he said to them, the children looked at him and began to finish up.
When breakfast was ready and on a tray and Aleisha was caring the presents they had gotten, the three quietly made their way upstairs to the adult's bedroom. Horatio opened door and Sam went in first followed by Aleisha and then Horatio who was carrying a bouquet of red roses.
They walked over and stopped at the bed "one...two...three...Happy Mother's Day" they chorused. The bed stirred and Lab Technician Maxine Caine sat up staring at her children and her husband "thanks babes" she said as Aleisha climbed onto her parents bed and handed her mother her gift, Sam put the tray on the bedside table and joined his mother and sister "Aww Leisha it's beautiful baby" Maxine said holding the painting she had just unwrapped.
She put it down and opened the one from Sam; it was a pentacle necklace "I love it Sam, I think I'll wear it" Maxine said putting it on, she kissed both her children and then looked at her husband who was holding a bouquet of red roses and beckoned him forward.
Horatio walked over and handed the flowers to his wife who kissed him "this is a lovely Happy Mother's Day"
