It had been a normal day. I had gone to the World Meeting, and no one noticed that I was there. Russia even sat in me. Again. I didn't leave until I could feel numb legs again, and by that time, I was alone, as always. Well, almost alone. Kumajiro was hanging on my back, but he's not the best company in the world. He forgets me too.
As I was walking home through the gorgeous Canadian wilderness, I saw him standing there. His shoulders rippled underneath his skin, speaking of immense physical strength, strength that I could only wish for. His eyes shone with a calmness that settled my disquieted soul, and they looked AT me, not through me. He was big in stature, no doubt an envy to many; he was much bigger than me. His brown hair glistened in the sun, wet from a swim earlier in the nearby lake. He was the most majestic moose I had ever seen; his antlers were in perfect shape, not even chipped from fights.
"Hey there," I said, reaching out my hand.
He lifted his head and I saw his nostrils flare as he took in my scent.
"Do you know who I am?" I didn't expect an answer, but I felt an immense urge to ask.
The moose brayed once, taking a step closer to me. Yes.
I could sense his answer even though he couldn't speak it. "You know who I am? Really?" I asked, excited.
He bellowed at me once more, this time walking over to me. I threw my arms up around his neck, and hugged him tightly, burying my face in his sun-warmed fur. I knew it! I knew one day that I would be noticed by someone! Ecstatic at my friend, we walked home together, where we live with Kumajiro.
A/N: Ya, utter crack LOL I was up in Rangely a couple weekends ago, and there was a funny Canadian shirt on display in one of the shops with a moose on it, and I thought "I need to write a Canada/Moose Fanfic" If you actually read this, kudos….I guess LOL It's not supposed to be serious in any way shape or form.
