I am represented by such a dull, melancholy color, yet I am the reason that people around the world second guess themselves. I am the area that causes pleasure, pain, and even death. Nothing would change that, not even the witches and wizards that use magic. They're my favorite lot to prove that to.

They learn the hard way that my black and white companions are merely there to show them that I exist. They learn that I am the blended result that forms when they finally accept the truth.

I have another opportunity opening. It's started with this brunette witch with hair as wild as a lion's mane that is matched by a wizard whose grey eyes are as cold as the heart he carries in his chest. Both try to live on alongside my black and white companions, but I can't allow that.

I force them together in my shaded area with the help of Death; she always comes when I need her. Black and White don't approve of my actions, but something had to be done.

They can't always have the fun.

The witch and wizard start off as expected, despising each other from opposing ends, but Time allows me the moment to use Death's aid.

Their parents are dead, leaving them with nothing but the support of their peers. So far, I am liking what progress I'd made; the pair is starting to see things my way.

The mindset that people start with is always my favorite part to experience. It normally comes as something along the lines of 'everything is so black and white, but there's a shaded grey area…'

Of course there's a grey area! Because if there wasn't, I can't exist. I have to exist. Life is so tragic without me. Oh dear, I'm getting off track.

The witch and wizard are just like the rest of the people with their thoughts, finally moving forward into believing in my existence. Their choices follow behind it after one of their banters, and I see them no longer having that same mindset of rejecting me.

Their minds are opening to other paths, just like I want them to.

Love has been on my side nowadays since I'm giving him the opportunity to play in my space. He's playing there now by drawing the brunette and blond together through the laws of attraction. I helped create those, ya know. The fine lines are always blurred by yours truly.

Of course, Pain has her time in my area too, since not everyone sees things the way I do. The brunette's friends aren't as accepting of what I'm trying to bring together (thus causing her pain), but I don't care. I won't stop now. I'm too close.

The blond isn't as spiteful in his actions, blurring in the section that I live for...crave for.

Yes! That's it! Open that wonderful mind of yours to me, little wizard. I welcome you with open arms!

The brunette follows suit! And I didn't even have to push again. I'll have to thank Love for that one later.

Another job well done for me, but I know I won't be thanked for it. After all, how could the people physically thank the grey area of their thoughts? I'm nothing but a metaphorical color that describes the truth that not everything is one way or another.

Could you not tell Black or a White I said that? They'll try to erase me out again, and that's no fun.

Who knew being such a dreary color could be filled with magical moments? Though I think that's the magic working from that Granger girl and Malfoy heir coming together almost as perfect as Fate would allow.

Damn, it's good to be Grey. Ask that Merlin fellow. He knows.
