This new calm; it's a quiet happiness
I wonder if it's all that it seems
It is silence, serenity, and stillness
The wake of the death of a million dreams
My dream has ended suddenly
It evaporated with you
I long to have you next to me
But I don't know where to run to
To find you out in space where I can't reach
Or deep beneath the unending sea
I whistle here on the beach
Wondering if you'll come running to me
The days are quiet and tranquil
And the world is at rest at last
But the memory of you haunts me still
I cannot seem to move on from the past
I am afraid that I'll forget
That you'll slip away forever
I know I can't forbid the sun to set
But I can't stop thinking of you, not ever
So I stand here on this quiet shore
Whistling until I can no longer breathe
They tell me that you're gone forever more
But it is my own heart I know to believe
You're out there and one day you'll come
Running back to these open arms of mine
Even though I know that the dream is done
I know also that our paths shall again intertwine

And even my misery cannot stop the beams
