The was inspired by the comic The Spotlight by scribblescrabblesdabble. I hope you enjoy.
"AUGH" Alice screams as she throws the chair across the room. "why Why WHY" she circles the room trying to get control of her anger and failing.
"Um Alice you should calm down." Boris tries to help but.
"No not this time Boris he's gone to far." She screams again even louder when Henry bursts in the small backstage room.
"Boris what are you doing back here your supposed to be on stage" s=the confusion clear on his face but his eyes are focused on Alice Angel. Boris goes to explain but Henry waves him to the stage. "Don't worry Boris I'll handle it just get a move on."
Henry takes a good look at the furious angel and plops down in a chair sitting in front of the flip table. "Alright Alice what seems to be the problem."
She turns towards him and he could see she was ready to shatter. "Alice" he grabs a flip chair. "sit down and talk to me." He pleas.
"AW darn it Henry you know I can't say no to you." She falls in the seat with a huff and silence settles.
"I can't stand Bendy. He always has to be the star always and no matter what I do he will always come out on top." Henry looks at her with pity. He gives her a pat on the shoulder and tries to find the right words to say without breaking his promise.
"Alice dear there are things I want to explain to you but I know it will only confuse you more." She looks up at him wanting an answer.
"Alice how about this if you finish today's show I'll tell you the reason why bendy steals the show so much. Heck I'll even let him explain it to you." She stands up.
"as if he would actually tell me. Bendy is a laugh and giggles. He couldn't be serious is his life deepened on it." She nearly yelled at Henry. She was so focused on Henry and her conversation she didn't even notice Bendy walking form the doorway but Henry did.
Hours after the show ended Alice was searching the building looking for Henry.
"Where is he." She says to herself.
"Where's who?" Bendy asks causing Alice to scream and jump.
"Oh, Bendy you little devil." She hissed out not really in he mood for Bandy's games.
"Why thank you" he says fallowing her down the hall. "but you didn't answer my question." He hop in front of her. "Who are you looking for?"
"Henry if you must know." She pushed past him still intent on finding Henry.
"Oh your not going to find him here I sent him home after the show." He smiles seeing Alice get so mad.
"You what but why would he." Turns to bendy ready to give him a piece of her mind.
"Well he did say he could get me to tell you why I'm the star of the show." She looks at him in shock then anger. His usual grin even big on his face than before.
"Dang it Bendy I don't want to hear any of your joke. Just tell me where Henry is." She starts out screaming but ends with a plea.
"No because if you want to know something about me you Gotta ask little ole me." His giggling tone dies by the end. "And I am being serious Alice. Just ask" A smile still sits on his face but know she notices that it seems forced in some way but still like his usual smile.
"Fine then Bendy why do you always steal the show, be cruel, own the spotlight WHY!" she screams finally getting the pain and humiliation off her chest.
"really now I thought you would have figured it out." He turns around his back facing her. "It's because this show is my entire existences Alice and it only exist if I'm on top. It isn't much, but it is MINE." Alice steps back in shock "w-hat do" he turns sharply cutting her off.
"I am the face of this show and no matter how much it pushes me or makes me end up hurting other I have to keep smiling" His voice goes light and happy no not happy a false happiness.
"Because once I stop smiling everything else stops the cameras, productions, are supple of ink." He looks her dead in the eyes and says "Once I stop smiling Alice everything stops understand." His voice now back to his normal fun fill tone and that scared her more than anything.
"Bendy w-wait." The door to Henry's work shop open.
"Oh, Bendy I see you found Alice thank you for bringing her to me." Henry gathers the fallen Angel in his arms and carries her in the room shutting the door behind him. He waits a moment just watching the trembling angel.
"Bendy told you huh." She trembles in his arms confused and sadden by what she learned.
"Alice I won't lie to you this is Bendy's show and no one can take his place as star." He sits down the Angel still wrapped in his arms. "He doesn't want The show Bendy wasn't made to be a start, but he had to learn how to be one and he has to love it."
She moves off his lap jumping when she sees Boris in the room. "What is it that you two aren't telling me."
Boris stands up "Bendy told it all if he stops smiling then bye bye show." Boris leave the room.
"It's time for bed Alice we have show in the morning" she struggles to find a question to ask but she's so tire "and you need. To think about what you have learned tonight." She looks at Henry in defeat.
"I understand" she starts to walk out but stops. "Goodnight Henry" she says and shuts the door.
"Goodnight Alice." He turns to the darkest corner of his workshop. "Bendy" he says calmly.
"I regret nothing Henry she needs to understand" Bendy say strong.
Henry sits in his chair. He sighs "Good night Bendy." As bendy heads to the door.
"Good night Henry" The door shuts and silences fills the room.
