Author's notes – I have always enjoyed reading the Sonic the Hedgehog comics by Archie comics, and I always wondered: "What would have happened if the civil war that was prevented from happening during issues 178 -179, did end up happening?". Also this story takes place 9 years after the Civil War began, and the story mostly revolves around Tails.

Chapter 1
In the Badlands
Date: day 313 (November 9th), year 3246 P.X.E present time
In the badlands, on Mobius was a small Prower base camp, surrounded by a force dome. The size of the camp was 100 feet in all directions from the center of the camp where the force dome generator was located, just like all base camps in the Prower army.
The rising sun's light shined its light upon the base. The land around the base was still as grey as ever and the craters outside still remain there as to remind the people of Mobius that here is where Knothole used to stand.
Inside one of the tents lays Miles "Tails" Prower. He's grown a lot since the day the civil war was declared, he's now 21 years-old, he's as tall as his father, thanks to all the years of being in battle he's grown some muscle along his arms and legs as well as abs and pecs, but due to his growing fur, it has covered most of them, and at his bedside is a band less eyepatch meant for his right eye which he lost in battle taking a shot for Mina.
Groaning in his sleep, Tails rolled over in bed facing the single pillow. "Breep! Breep! Breep!" goes his alarm clock. Tails lifts his head, and slowly opens his left eye seeing the hazy beige drape of the tent. Turning around, he lifts his right arm and hits the button on top of the clock, turning it off. Sitting up in the bed, he wipes the sleepiness away from his uninjured eye. When he opens it again he maneuvers his legs to the side of the bed and resting his feet on the ground, and yawns while stretching his arms, "Well, don't want to be late." he thought.
He picks up his eyepatch and puts it on over his right eye. Standing up, he walks over to his trunk. He opens it and pulls out a fresh pair of boxers and slips them on, then he pulls out a beige shirt, a pair of grey jeans, 2 white socks, and his brown leather gloves. Putting them on, he walks over to the entrance of the tent and slips his feet into his brown leather boots, grabs his messenger's bag over his left shoulder and let it rest on his right shoulder and left hip, and finally he unhooks his brown leather jacket and slips it on.
Stepping outside his tent he makes his way toward the command tent. Along the way he passes a few soldiers, they all salute as he walks by, "Morning sir.", "Have a good day sir." they say as he walks by. "Somethings never change…" Tails thought with a half-smile on his face.
He arrives at the command tent within two minutes. Pushing past the drape at the east entrance, he looks up and sees that he's the first one here.
He shrugs and starts making the coffee. Once finished, he hears the drape on the north-east side being pushed past. He turns around and smiles sees his girlfriend Mina Mongoose, walk in. Mina walks up to Tails and kisses him on the cheek "Good morning Tails." Mina says cheerfully as she pulls away smiling at him, and pours him and herself a cup of coffee each, "Good morning Mina." Tails said with a smile on his face. Hearing the sound of the south-east drape is being pushed past, he turns and sees Mina's ex-boyfriend Ash Mongoose walk in. Ash shoots Tails an evil glare in his direction. "…but some things do." Tails thought with a heavy sigh, as he pours Ash a cup of coffee. He hands Ash the cup, Ash takes it from grasp, and without even a 'thank you' he storms off to the monitor.
Shaking her head, Mina puts her hand on Tails' cheek and looks into his sky blue eye, "Give him time, he'll come around." Mina reassures him. Looking into Mina's spring green eyes with his good eye, he saw that she had faith that Ash would get over her, he just would need time. "Even with one eye…" Mina thought with a smile "…he's still so handsome, and cute. I still remember when he lost his right eye to save me."

Author's Notes – So? What do you think? Tails and Mina are dating, Ash is still getting over the break up with him and Mina, but is still a bum. In the next chapter we will get to see how Tails lost his right eye. That's right! A flashback! Please review, and some creative criticism would be appreciated.
