"This is so dumb!" Naruto shouted as he kicked the icy cave wall.
"Shut up dobe" Sasuke said calmly as he leaned against the cold wall.
Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi were on a mission to collect some special herbs in a snowy area, but a blizzard happened so Naruto and Sasuke got separated from Kakashi and Sakura.
They had no choice but to take shelter in the cave near by.
However, rocks and snow fell and blocked the entrance so now they were stuck.
Sasuke was going to use his fireball jutsu but if they opened the entrance that would just let cold air in, and it wasn't safe to go out in a blizzard, ninja or not.
So here they are in a cave, together.
"It's cold in here" Naruto whined as he sat down against the wall of the cave.
"I noticed, dobe" Sasuke said as he sat down against the wall across from Naruto.
After that neither of them spoke for a long time, hours even, it wasn't until 3 hours later that Naruto finally spoke.
"H-Hey Sasuke... w-we're going to get out of this... r-right?" Naruto asked while shaking, not only was he freezing but he was scared, what if they didn't make it out?
Sasuke was also shaking but he managed to keep from stuttering. "I'm sure the blizzard will end by tomorrow morning, we just have to survive the night" Sasuke said as he rubbed his arm.
"B-But it's so... cold..." Naruto managed to get out as he tried to make himself into a ball to try and get warmer.
It wasn't until an hour later that stuff seriously took a turn for the worse.
"S-Sasuke?..." Naruto said quietly.
"H-Hn?"
"I... I'm so... tired..." Naruto managed to get out before he fell to his side.
Sasuke's eyes widened and he weakly crawled over to Naruto.
"D-Don't fall asleep... y-you loser..." Sasuke managed to get out.
"I... d-don't... have any... strength... l-left..." Naruto managed to get out as his eyes started to close.
"N-No..." Sasuke said as he weakly made hand signs.
"F-Fire style... fire ball... jutsu" He managed to make a tiny flame, just enough to hopefully warm them up without using up all of his chakra.
Sasuke and Naruto were low on chakra from the start because of all the training they did earlier before starting their mission, Sasuke's really pushing himself right now.
Naruto managed to open his eyes enough to see what Sasuke was doing. "S-Sasuke... don't... y-your chakra..." Naruto trailed off.
Sasuke was able to get their clothes mostly dry before he had to stop the jutsu, he instantly fell to his side, ready to pass out.
"S-Sasuke..." Naruto said weakly.
"I-I can't... keep... a-awake..." Sasuke managed to get out before his eyes closed.
"I-I won't... let t-this happen to y-you!" Naruto cried weakly.
Naruto didn't have much he could do, he didn't know fire style and they didn't have any matches or anything on them.
Naruto un-zipped his jacket and laid it on Sasuke before wrapping his arms around Sasuke's body, in hopes of warming him up.
"S-So... c-c-cold..." Naruto stuttered out weakly as he shivered, but if it would keep Sasuke alive, he would deal with it.
An hour later Naruto and Sasuke were about the same, currently hugging each other in an attempt to stay warm. They had no options left.
"H-Hey Sasuke?..." Naruto said quietly.
"Hn?..."
"I-If we... m-make it out... a-alive... l-let's keep on b-being... f-friends okay?" Naruto asked as he gave Sasuke a weak smile.
Because everyone knew, despite what Naruto and Sasuke say, the word rivals means best friends when it comes to those two.
Sasuke managed to give a small smirk. "Yeah... sure..."
