Relics and Ruins.
„You can defeat me. But... the one to kill me... will not be you."
The first and final gunshot rang, the recoil of the Tank-rifle still acheing through her full-vampireic arm.
Guilt shook through her for a second, only to be engulfed with rage.
„Traitor." she hissed.
A mere smile was the answer. The smile of a dieing man.
She had surpassed him... he wanted to lay this traitor to sleep, and failed... she suceeded.
Was it her destiny? She didnt care at all.
Walters eyes slowly went over to an glassy state, indicateing his close embrace of death.
„Thank you..." he whispered, mentally speaking the three magic words at the vampiress.
She ignored them.
He told her before, and she told him before that they werent made for each other.
Walter was too different. He lived in a different world with different tastes.
Or so she thought, until the very moment when she faced the young, but mirrored image of this old man.
Traitor.
That word crossed her mind again and again, slowly, the gun cooled down.
Walters last moments were over, and his chip ignited the napalm bombs stored within his body.
Her eye glaced over his burning body... such irony. He had carved the same death the insane man who built this questioning empire had.
Hitler was burnt to ashes by his soldiers so the enemy would never find his corpse.
Mental images passed by.
Jan Valentine.
Tubalulaine Alhambra.
Rip van Winkle.
Zooling Blitz.
And finally..
Hans Günsche.
The last name filled her with guilt. He mightve been a monster, but he wasnt so bad afterall. He had been just loyal.
Loyality...?
Come to think of it, she wouldve rather fell in love with him than with Walter, the traitor.
But fate decided neither... but her hero.
He died for her... and that had yet to be beaten.
„Don´t waste your thoughts on those guys, girlie.. theyre past now." his voice called her from the back of her head.
„I know Pip, i know... but itll be hard to forget."
One last glace on the place with the ashes, then she turned back... back to her Master, Integral Hellsing.
And so, Seras forgot about Walter, and forgot he was a traitor.
