This story is a Christmas gift for my best friend Riley (not her real name, of course), who is a HUGE Hunger Games fan. So when I asked her for a story suggestion, the top idea was a bow-and-arrow training session with Katniss Everdeen. But she also asked me to let her ask a very important question. The results are what you see below.
IMPORTANT: This was merely written for the sake of comedy. Do not take this story seriously and don't kill me for whatever either of them does. Let's face it, fellow writers, when characters have a broad enough personality, they take over.
A peaceful sparrow's rest in the forest was interrupted by a swift, flying arrow.
"Almost," Katniss responded. "Not bad for your first try."
"Yeah," Riley replied, putting her bow down. "I don't usually do this type of thing." It was true. Riley would normally draw pictures and create art in the safety of her home. Being in the middle of a forest with a character from one of her favorite series, learning to shoot with a bow and arrow was certainly different. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure, what?"
"Don't take this the wrong way, but... Why are you so bipolar?"
Katniss gave her a funny look, "Bipolar?"
"Yeah, it's as if you can never decide what you want! I mean you barely killed anyone during the Games, you can't pin down exactly who to trust even though many of those people were willing to sacrifice their lives to help you and you trust Haymitch, the one who shouldn't make sense because he's always DRUNK!"
"Hey, I did it to save my sister!"
"Too bad you weren't able to save her from the Capital, huh?!"
"THAT'S IT! You're going down!" Katniss jumped at Riley, knocking them both down to the ground. While the two started trying to beat each other to a pulp, Peeta and Chessy came from over the hill.
"Hey!" Chessy exclaimed, not noticing the problem, "We brought pie!" She stared as the two girls stopped, looking bruised and exhausted. "What happened?"
Katniss stood up, giving Riley a glare, "We'll settle this later."
Riley just grinned, "I'll bring my steel-toed boots. You bring the knives."
Yes, Riley actually does own a pair of steel-toed shoes. Surprisingly, after so many years of owning them, they still fit! XD
