So, tonight is new years, and me and my friend stood and watched the Sydney fire works! Puuuurdy

The convo - for the most part - happened. Minus the kissy and lovey dovey. Me an Sam love each other, but we are not IN love with each other.

So, this is a collab between me and GoldenPantha ... and no. We are not drunk on strawberry champagne. It was only ONE glass. Yay! Underage :D

PROMISE

The lights dulled, and the noise that had flared stopped. Whoops and cheers silenced, and everyone had returned to their houses to feast on prawns and strawberry champagne.

But two remained. Standing precautiously on a tall brick wall, in the next door neighbour's garden, Riku occasionally grabbing Sora to stop him from falling. Soaking in each others company, watching the smoke slowly clear from the now grey sky. With out hesitation, Sora leaned across and pecked Riku's cheek.

The older turned towards Sora, frowning. "Huh?"

A smile plastered itself on Sora's face. "Happy New Year!" Same old Sora. Riku's face softened, and he found himself reaching for Sora's hand.

They stood in comfortable silence. Of course, Sora had to break it.

"Best friends forever?"

Giving him an odd look, Riku replied, "Forever….. you're the one friend I'll keep for life."

If possible, Sora's smile, widened.

Riku replied, almost bashfully, "Will you be at my funeral?"

Sora, much to Riku's embarrassment, let out a laugh. "Of course! …unless I die first."

"Then will you be there in spirit?"

"Yeah! And I'll welcome you to heaven with a fanfare of fire works… just like tonight!"

Riku let out a sigh, and pulled Sora closer, who responded by laying his head in the crook of the older boy's neck, playing with his long silver hair. Riku placed a chaste kiss on Sora's head, closing his eyes and breathing in the fresh sea air around them.

In a last minute save of his dignity, Riku breathed "That was so fucking corny."

Sora let out a chuckle. Same old Riku.
