Mizu No Kokoro

You told me always

To have a mind like water

Only when it is still

Can it reflect what is shown to it

Only then

Is its full potential grasped

.

As I lie here

I think of what you said

I pray to the heavens I made you proud

Respect everything

Love

And most of all honor yourself and your family

.

I hope my death will be that of honor

For I was still
I was calm

When he killed them

Killed us

I hope he saw in my face

The monster he really is

Reflected back at him

From my mind like still water

.

Mizu no Kokoro

Last words of Dawn LeFoird

Murdered by Ladd Russo on the Flying Pussyfoot

Along with all too many others…

[Just thought it would be an interesting idea for a poem. It's a famous Zen saying (Mizu no Kokoro) and is on a plaque on my dojo's wall]
