Note: This idea sprung to mind and I went with it. Enjoy the prologue! The first full-length chapter will be out in a few days time.

A Little Bit Haunted

Prologue; in which the headstrong princess gets captured.

The wind blew gently across the desert of Sarasaland causing several small tornado formations known as dust devils to drift across the quite plain landscape, the only lifeforms seen for miles around appeared to be only but a pokey or two that were helplessly getting caught within the sandy formations and spinning frantically out of control.

If the princess of Sarasaland squinted, she could almost see a small town on the horizon. Whoever had the brilliant idea of building the castle of the sandy kingdom in the middle of the desert with the nearest town miles away must have had some affinity towards solitude. The princess yawned as she watched the sun lower behind the pyramids that dotted the landscape. Not even Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom dared to venture out here. Whenever a get together was brought up, it was always everyone's idea to go to the Mushroom Kingdom.

The Mushroom Kingdom had its own race track. The Mushroom Kingdom had its own golf course. The Mushroom Kingdom had this. The Mushroom Kingdom had that.

Sarasaland had sand.

Princess Daisy groaned aloud as she glared out her window. It simply wasn't fair. She loved her kingdom with every ounce of her being, but when nobody else fancied her kingdom it made her feel quite lonely. Honestly, it made her want Tatanga to come stir up some trouble once again. While she absolutely dreaded getting kidnapped, she couldn't help but to squeal with delight in the adventure that she had that week.

The princess prided herself on the fact that she had avoided any kidnappings since then, but in the back of her mind she was reminded that nobody had even attempted to kidnap her. Bowser was too infatuated with Peach and he was low key terrified of the Sarasaland Princess ever since she slapped him for being in her way. Tatanga was apparently not interested in her or her kingdom ever since Mario laid a beat down on him. So honestly, who did that leave left? She could give anyone a serious injury by simply using her fists of steel. (Well not really steel, but she liked to think of them as such.)

Princess Daisy stretched her hands out before her and released a rather long, drawn-out yawn. All that thinking was making her tired. She grumbled a bit before closing shut her window and plopping down rather ungracefully on her orange quilted bed. Normally she would have changed into something more suitable for slumber, but being the most unorganized princesses around, she decided against it and ended up falling asleep in her ball gown.

Princess stereotypes were ridiculous anyway.

That night Daisy had the strangest dream. She dreamt she was floating in mid-air. Unusual for a dream of feel so.. real.
