I do not own Doctor Who.

The Doctor stepped out of the TARDIS, shivering in the chill night air. His hearts throbbed with pain of the emotions that were still fresh in his mind. Rose was gone… he still couldn't bring himself to face it. He knew he needed this pain, to become free, once more in the light of the moon. He turned his face heavenwards, the TARDIS door clicking shut behind him.

"Yes…" he whispered, softly, looking upwards at the star-spangled sky. The moon peeled away from the clouds and the Doctor jerked violently in pain. He began to scream with pain, clutching his stomach in pain. Blood dripped from his hands as his nails grew, shredding his top and jacket as he bulged in size. Thick fur covered him and his screams doubled as his face changed, cracking loudly.

His face bulged out and sharp teeth pushed through his gums. His teeth clipped empty air as he snapped, jaw growing to the fullest size. His ears pressed outward, sharply pointed and he gripped the floor, shreds of clothing floating to the floor. His eyes opened, deep amber, and he rose up onto hind legs, transformed. Turning his muzzle skyward, he howled. Then, slowly, the moon vanished, to become blood red. The Doctor froze, silhouetted in the middle of the street. With the red light shining on him he roared, eyes gleaming out red, glowing faintly. He almost doubled in size, claws digging grooves into the ground.

Human screams made him whirl and lunge, blood streaming from his jaws as he destroyed a young woman and then her husband. He roared again, truly loosing it in the light of the red moon. Then he turned, leaping hard, crashing down a few streets away. He staggered and then slowly the light showed over the edge of the cityscape. The Doctor stumbled, returning to his normal size, and fell over with a thump. He staggered off towards the TARDIS, once more terrified of himself and feeling SO alone.
